That's BS, you don't have to accept their deals.
There are about 10 non-top civs, you can trade with them.
Only if you want to have the newest techs, then you have to pay the pig prices. While bottom-civs mostly have no use for the newest techs anyway because their production capacity is not ready for it. (cool, I can build a maceman, only takes me 60 turns to finish!)
Don't be so greedy for the newest techs, accept it to be a bit behind, that's not that bad. Now you only make the top-civs stronger by overpaying them for their techs.
In other words: don't blame the top-civs, blame yourself. Noboy forces you to accept uneven deals.
The length of time to prodcue a unit is regardless. my axemen are weak and evne when highly promoted are having real bad luck with the RNG. So i NEED the next unit Macemen , or for me the Berserker. It is my only hope of finishing off the barbarians. I will trade whatever it takes to get the techs to get that unit to save my people.
Due to this yes the top civs will be getting a great deal. As i said my NEEd outweighs my concerns of the middle civs complaining about the top civs getting 2 or even 3 vouchers per tech.
I am officially opening discussins with all civs who hav ethe tech i need and offering as many vouchers as they want for that tech.
PM me and make me an offer.....
If the middle road civs had made some offers earleir and not left it to me to go begging then perhpas we wouldnt have arrived at this situation.
To get rid of barbarians you should not fight them, but not make them appear.
Build a lot of units, position them at hils everywhere to release the fog of war.

Cyber as you are well aware to make that many units is impossible to support with the econmies of this level of game difficulty.
Besides there are not that many hills in my area , lots oof imapssable mts but not hills. so i would need two to three times as many units, in open plains.
I know ho the vikings feel for I have the same problem. I only need one more teck till I can rid myself of the barbarian problem whick no matter how hard i try they keep comming in bigger numbers. I have lost 2 cities to them already along with at least 6 units withthe past 2 weeks alone so I understand what my viking friends are talking about. but it is ok. i will get my missing tech and i will have samurai all over my lands. Another thing is it me or are the vikings and me the only ones being attacked nonstop?
i think others have units everywhere defending themselves on al lth hills no fog of war etc. it great military planning by them
or it just rotten luck that most of the barbarians are on our area. Your smal island is over run with them and the landbridge they dont go south only north.
They seem to know who has the weakest defence , maybe it programmed into them

Not a good idea,
Place them at strategic places.

I not sure what happens in other peoples ateritories , but if i put my troops in Strategic places the barbs simply walk aorund my troops. they never attack unless they can win the fight.
I have to attack the barbs as the approach or they simply walk past my units and into my cultural area and start destroying my roads and other infrastructure.
My citys are well defended so i know they cnt detroy them.
But my improvements i cannot defend by putting units on hills or strategic locations.
My island has been safe it's just every time I try to expand the keep comming back. If I kill 1 2 pop up to take their place and he 2 that show up are always the type that has an advantage over mine. How am I supossed to stop something like that?
