The whole reason for the voucher system is to provide a mechanism to support the bottom civs.
Let's say a bottom civ has no tech it can trade because it's backward.
BUT it has 15 vouchers.
A top civ has a tech to give to the backward nation.
(Normally gifts would be rare in a competetive game although it happens - e.g. Wyandot)
But because the backward civ has 15 vouchers it allows for the top civ to gift a tech (game mechanics-wise) and receive a voucher in return (game rules).
In other words a tech that is unlikely to be gifted outright yields a tech for the botton civ and status quo for the top civ.
Go figure - it works.
in hotw2 i recieved multiple techs from you when i was so far behind it wasnt funny
so lets stop the crap and admit it. The voucher system is not here for the small people
and tell me after my 15 voucehrs are gone waht do i do then

Research them like everyone else?
we are talking about the weaker players pinny not players like yourself who are good players.
if the weak players could keep up i nresearch rate then they wouldnt be weaker players , please keep up with the argument if you going to join in.
We are discussing how to keep weak players in the game , not how to crush them.
Again wrong. I never said no one was doing gifting, there are some who are very fair, i have already stated the Wyandots as an example. 4 techs for 2 vouchers. Now yourself too a tech for notihng but political usage.
For the record Raz, I have gifted a tech in this game for political reasons... so yes, charity does still exist. Your view of how every tech deal is a 1 for 1 is a very simplistic assessment.
but i have been informed by certain palyers that they wont gift techs at all they actualyl demand a voucheer in return and are quite upset when i tell them that is not being charitiable .
Your example of gifting a tech for nothing used to happen in all the old DIPLO games . what happened to the game? who changed this from being a game where good and bad palyers can play and enjoy to one that is so comepetive and cut throat.

gentlemen. i sorry but inca are not in picture, you say.
again they offer a tech expecting two in return at same beaker. this normal makes sense but it show lack understanding how precious a tech is.
no one would trade 2 of 900 beaker for one 1800.
some organizer need talk inca and all declare tech trade.

i think it showas some people study techs and give them worth on how many beakers or whatever they are, others look at techs and value them on importance to the tribe recieving it.
Others jsut value them as vouchers.
-------------------
That asied i think this thread is useless as not every time a trade is made is the other civ making a corresponding post.
If it is a trade then someone gave a tech and another gave a voucehr , both sides must post to confirm the deal.
I can see many examples of the sexond civ not posting.
And again see many examples where peoples scores increase drastically consecutive turns which is a good clue that techs been gained.
if this going to be used this thread then lets get every trade posted here and the second civ to confirm the trade.

Once again, so there is no confusion, if you trade/give a tech you must post here that you used a voucher to do so. If you trade/give a voucher you must post here who received it so their tally can be accounted for.
I can see many examples of the sexond civ not posting.

Raz, you forget that the bigger civs can also only trade 15 techs totally.
So yes, you can only 'receive' 15 techs, but the big civs won't advance as easy as well, since they won't be able to trade their techs.
And since a tech becomes easier to research when more people know that tech already (you need less beakers) it's hard to get really behind.
In the past the big civs became even more advanced because they traded their newer techs with each other. That's not possible anymore.
But maybe you're right, and some civs fall behind too much later in this game. We'll deal with that then.
Maybe at one moment in the game everybody agrees to give an extra, say, 10 beakers to the bottom 3 civs.
My problem with you is that you complain about a situation that hasn't come forth yet. Why complain about something that may happen in the future? Maybe it's not going to happen at all. And if it happens, then we deal with that at that moment.
I have the same problem with the Romans a bit, they talk about this game as if they're going to be big through the entire game. Well, maybe they're not going to be big. Maybe a huge war will breakout and they lose that war and 30% of their empire.
I think it's way too early to predict who's going to win this game.
There are 18 players and many odds. The current top3 may be strong, but there's a huge group of at least 10 civs that are doing quite well as well. I won't dare to say that the Romans, Khmer and Portugese are going to win this game (gamescore-wise).
I think that because of the less secure alliances and the huge number of civs in the game, things are going to be interesting. I think we're going to see some very interesting wars.
And I also hope that we finally stop declaring that to quit when something bothers someone. It gives me a headache. Every few weeks somebody is going to 'quit'. Can we finally get over it? I'll be honest, I'm not going to do my very best anymore to keep people in the game. It's not worth the efford. I have more important things to do then talking to those quiters all the time.
Please stop wasting valuable game time and let's focus on the game. Just enjoy it, stop the ever ongoing crap and debates, etc. I think this game is going brilliantly and we're a strong group, capable to handle problems when they arrise. No reason to handle problems 6 months before the occure.
I'm sorry for all those spelling errors. Ok, not really, but just had to write something like that to make you guys aware that I'm at least aware of my many mistakesFormerly known as "CyberShy"
