I really don't think I did anything wrong, toni seems to think building an Axeman and using it is against the rules somehow...

I don't see where the fun is attacking a warrior with an axe, and killing that person, because he lucked a cap copper pop up.

My problem is that games get killed because of such early rushes.

With large games, only the player gets killed, and not the game

I've had it happen to me, and I've done it to other people... It's part of the game. Early rushes are just that... even if they consist of only one or two superior units early on, that's the way it is. I pay a little more attention to defense than I used to, just so that doesn't happen as often.

Some people leave their defenses thin early... gambling it's not going to matter, so they can concentrate on other goals... there is a risk to that

Yeah, nothing wrong with the early attack. I really didn't think people would restart after I my defeat. I was going to look for a second game. You win some and you lose miserably in others. It happens. In a larger game, someone is going to have it happen. And especially with all the players we have, there's always the chance of getting in another game. Our games are usually quite entertaining, and I'd like them to stay that way.

Especially when you lose because of your decisions. I choose to try to press him by building a city closer to him and used my third city to hook the metal. Thought i'd have the time. BAD choice.



More important though is dealing with slow play. That hurt the game more and cost us a player.

Timers help, but I hate to have to use a timer because it punishes the people that don't play slow. One turn you may need a little extra time, and I would prefer that you get it. We try to be nice to include all comers, but they have to show consideration for all in the game.

If it was still early I would've played on for sure, but because of all the slow play (and restarts because of) we were way beyond finishing and so I had to quit at 1:30am or whatever it was. I don't mind playing late, but I wasn't prepared for it.

I understand these games don't resume? so what was the result of the game?

Me and Rah decided to take over the world, but my pc froze while i was taking down Y, sorry for not returning but I was just too tired Rah.

After all the restart, it was understandable toni.
With a lot of people and the length of time, there will be dropouts and computer issues. Especially after 6 or 7 hours.

But it would have been nice to use those experienced troops though on the next victim.

If I had had horses in easy reach, he wouldn't have been.

Most annoying to have a mounted UU and not get to a horse tile until damned near gunpowder era.

Well ... it was nice to be in the upper third for once.

Yeah, especially if you go for animal husbandry prior to bronze just to see if you can speed up a rush.
