At 11am Aussie EST deity and myself will be available for a game, this may be about 7pm USA time (in at least one of the time zones anyway I think), I will have both icq and MSN on. Hopefully some of the players on this thread can be available.

While is was waiting I thought I'd download my apolyton e-mail, since it's about a month since i did it last. over 17000, geeze, and 99.9% spam. So I hope no one here sent any emails to that address because I doubt I'll be able to find the needle in the haystack

A game today where deity showed that with the right start he could soar out to a commanding lead. Despite an early and large GDP lead by myself, deity hauled my technological lead in fairly quickly and began to dominate. Realising a stay as we go course would not suffice, I decided to build military units and assault a weaker neighbour to get more cities quickly, hoping that might be able to overcome the deity advantage. RAH was the unlucky target, but was surprised that he had recently mastered maces, was only expecting axes and phalanxes in the fight. Rapid progress was made, but at a higher cost than anticipated as I had decided to go for a mace only SOD, no cats, or trebutchets, believing them unnecessary against the expected weaker units. Unfortunately the session ended as people found other commitments to do.

I've never played MP, quick or normal games, and haven't played Civ in months, but I'd like to give this a shot. Sounds interesting.

LordShiva, the India time slot may suit the Aussie group better than RAH group, up to you though, the Aussie group tends to focus on games over a number of sessions on epic or marathon speed though, rather than a single session quicker game, post in the Aussie thread if you are interested and provide a msn or icq contact.

Yeah, Trev, I was expecting you eventually. Another 8 turns and I might have been ready. Another awful start due to really wicked land but got metal casing from a hut, which was the only reason I had maces. Tired and bored, and hearing the sound of doom lead to finally getting some sleep. I guess I needed it since I slept longer than I had in months.

Hopefully a better start next time.

Interesting, I'll give it a look. I doubt I'll have the time to devote to multi-session games, though. Plus, I'm on US time for the time-being.
