I don't like it either as it takes a bit of 'civ' out of the game, especially in those gamespy quick/blazing FFA's which seem to degenerate into a unit pumping RTS frenzy.

This is only an issue in wartime however and in a diplogame it would be quite easy to reach an arrangement where two warring parties would alternate their moves in the true manner of civ.

The one thing that has always bugged me since civ 3 is that in civ2, whilst it was your opponenets turn you could manage your citys and do your diplomacy stuff. now in civ 3 and civ4 you are forced to wait and do it all at the same time as unit moving

I agree. Sim turns aren't good for live play. We should leave Sim turns unchecked and just play live or check Sim turns and just play one turn per 24 hours.

This won't. It is a regular diplogame just as HOTW7 is. They just have different settings, that's all.

That wasn't the problem, the problem was that you pasted the wrong link in the first place. Poly just shrinks the text that's shown whilst still linking to the correct place.

Recently, you discovered that, more specifically, the real problem with the first link was that in the original link, I followed it with a period mark (full stop). The website included it in the link and therefore made the link invalid. It's not like I copied and pasted a link from a dead page or something. I made a careless mistake, but it wasn't that careless.

Honestly Ras, everyone who you are calling out to is in HOTW 7, there isn't much incentive to join another diplogame with more commitment.

At least that's in my case.

umm no you are wrong altogether mr prussia. The whole point of this thread was to entice new people to play DIPLO not to compete with HOTW7.0 , if people have time for two sessions a week they are free to join this one, but i always ofund myself one session was enough.

If no one new wants to play then i will be playing a SINGLE PLAYER DIPLO....

Well, I'd like to register my interest. I think I'd enjoy this type of game. Having read the thread, I just have one questions. Am I to understand that there are no 'power sessions' on Sundays anymore - i.e. we only play one turn every 24 hours?

I guess my other comment is that I tend to enjoy games that don't break down early into unbreakable 'teams' - where everyone's loyalties remain slightly independent.
