The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

Also I'm not a fan of predictable maps, so I'd prefer a continents or islands map. Dunno about other people, though.

Not publically known. But you're in the testing forum. Just check there. I made a thread with all the info you need.
But again, I think tis silly to plan a game a two months from now when we don't even know whether HOTWV will be done or not. I think the people who are ready to play now should just play now.
That being said, if you guys do want to wait forever for this to happen.. then my pick goes to either Roosevelt or Saladin or France.

As far as maps go, I really prefer Continents - Islands is easily my least favorite map and I sort of agree with MMC as far as eliminating predictability in a diplo game. I'm going to stick my vote out towards a Huge Continents map again, since I saw that a couple other people were fancying a Huge map, too, now.
As far as map details go, I'm a fan of Tropical and Low sea level, but sea level isn't so important to me. With Tropical maps, you see a whole lot more foliage on the map and it really gives it that raw world feeling. Not to mention that it gives production a slight step up early on so we can get rolling a little quicker and reach the parts we're all waiting for.
What other stuff would make the list complete, other than Civ-selection?
(Also, to MMC: My day is packed today, but I'll pop back into the channel tomorrow [Wednesday].)
I think for diplogames all players should start on the same continent. If the players are spread over the earth that means that it'll take a looooong time before all players have met each other. That'll kill the diplomacy in the early start of the game. Besides that, you're almost forced to allie with your neigbours. If you have only 2 or 3 neighbours you can't afford it to make war wit them. Perhaps on the other continents the players collaborate and will be much advanced compared to your own warmongering continent.
Therefor there are only two options for diplomgaming, IMHO: Terra and Pangea.
I think that Terra is unballanced because the leading civs will reach the new world first and expand their lead even more.
I think Pangea is the best option for civ4 diplogames. If possible with a lot of small coastal islands for naval stuff.
