You really should pay attention to the news a bit more Sab...
I'll put my name in... and my vote is:
Huge
Islands (Many Extra Large + Many Small)
Epic or Marathon (both could do with tweaking to find a middle ground)
As for time to play... July and August will see me alternating between Sleep, Food, and Gaming (possibly a bit of TV). September onwards, I'll be busier on Weekdays, but I'll probably still only have a 2 & 1/2 day week as far as Uni is concerned (may even be able to play in lectures). I'm in Europe, but I tend to operate on a US timetable when I'm Gaming. That said, I'll probably have to confirm each week if I'm available as I tend to do random things on the spur of the moment (to the annoyance of some people).

Since I'm (central europe) currently on GMT+2, and on GMT+1 from october, it would be possible for me to play Fridays starting at 9pm GMT, but not earlier, and preferably not later, since that'd mean a really long evening.
I would like to keep Saturday night free for other things, so if we play on Saturdays, I'd like to finish the session by 9pm GMT at the latest. On Sunday it doesn't matter when.
On the topic of waiting, I'd really like to get the game going, but with the summer vacation issues and warlords around the corner, I guess it's a lot less hassle to wait for that.
Terra maps are much bigger than other maps anyway, so I don't think it's an important point that there's so much water - the "old world" will still be almost the size of an equal-sized pangaea map. Anyway, if we decide to wait, then we should decide once we know about the number of players.

Welcome MMC to HOTW7!
I'll be posting summaries as we go along with debating the ultimate Diplogame!
It seems that we are getting a consensus on postponing the start date until after the summer issues.
I suggest a preliminary startdate/time of Friday August 11th at 21:00 UTC
This gives LzPrst, Ozzy and whomever time to join.
Americans will have to start playing in the early afternoon local time (about 14:00, 2 PM), Euros in the late evening (about 23:00, 11 PM) and Aussies (about 8 Saturday morning).

Try not to start a caveman war
Behave Civiltowards other players
More definite rules:
No annihilation of players
Do not use savegames for cheating (i.e. checking other civs or playing in single player to see what happens)

Perhaps wait until after the summer issues have died down, and we can sit down and have a real game
Waiting will also give some more time for discussions, and testgames
Any thoughts about postponing?"Old age and skill will overcome youth and treachery. "

Then again there are enough players interested in this game to start a new one, and then maybe us HOTWVers can pick up a Warlords game for HOTW8Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
