Australia plays Japan in about 9 hours time. Japan is favourite and we've not been in the WC for 32 years!

But I predict ozzy (Aussie) win

Australia comes 4th in the Olympic Game which is amazing for 20 million people.

It is for baseball and basketball. I've never heard it for American Football (guys in plastic armor knocking each other over). I guess the theory was that the leagues didn't want to view themselves as strictly limited to American teams. For example, there are have been Canadian baseball and basketball teams in the NBA and MLB. Also, I heard San Diego's baseball stadium has a underground tunnel to allow Mexicans to enter the stadium to view games, although this might be a rumor. ^_^

Basicly for a long time no one but Americans played Baseball or Basketball. Now almost everyone plays basketball and Japan and South America play baseball.
