I know I say this a lot, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Before anybody considers themselves out of this game, we should wait until at least Tuesday maybe to give everyone a chance to let us know their situations.

I mean, so far we have around three or four people who would like to play on Fridays, but we have at least five to four others who haven't stated this outright. So before we start worrying about what time on FRIDAY we are going to play, let's make sure that is optimum.

IF Friday is the day we play, we should then figure out which time that day are the best. Right now it seems we have two times, one that is in the afternoon in the US, the evenings in Europe, and the morning in the far east (SE Asia and Australia), the second time would place us in the evenings in the US, the late evening/early early morning in Europe, and the early afternoon in the far east.

What our goal SHOULD BE is to get as many players as we can in the game, which means we should choose the time that offers us the most players. Now, as I've said before if there are four people in this group who don't get to play into this game, that serves as a starting point for a second game, possibly on Saturday when Kuno is more available, and when Deity Dude is more available, and when Flyboy is available. This way you could also get Frank (who is a diplo-vet in his own right) to join your game, which would give it a lot more credibility.

That would be the best course to take for this game, and if they wanted some could play in both games. The goal here is to increase interest in the diplogame scene, why?

Simply because we'd have a larger pool of players, so this would no longer be an issue. Next time around, theoretically, we'd have a few more players. Even if we didn't, we'd still have a good time.

That is what I urge everyone to do, we shouldn't be discouraged from playing diplogames because we couldn't fit into this one's scheme. So we should see who falls into which game and work from there.

In sum: Await everyone's response, seperate us into groups of available players, then decide on one or two games that SHOULD occur this coming week.

If we follow this scheme we should be successful.

ok heres my 2 cents about this

why not set up a game where two people share an empire and one guy plays on friday when he can, then the other guy (or girl, i need to be fair) plays on tuesday ow wednesday..... that way a civ sgets played and everyone has a hand in it...

Nobody is going to share their Civ. It sounds like a good idea, but ultimately it is going to end in one of the two people quitting or disagreeing and both quitting, that's just how it has happened in the past.

urgh... So. What do we have now?

I assume, since no time, game name or password is noted there was no game started on friday. Or did I miss out?

I still feel this is very messy. and I am now getting a little impatient.

I fear we will have to split into 3 groups. Euros, Americans, and Pacific.

Frankly. The way I see it, we cant get a game going with all 3 timezones. we tried. it didnt work out. I think we may have to go to the step where we declare multiple games. We can continue to plan one or both (or all three) here or we can make new threads for each game, the latter would be far more organized.

The way I see it flyboys schedule is not compatible with the euros but it is with Kuno, possibly deity and even ozzy (though we want ozzy )

unfortunately there is a problem with the atlantic group since the capo and deitydudes timetables are mutually exclusive from cyber. in addition, cyber, your availability is a little scarce. is it possible for you to be more flexible?

we now have the situation where we must choose to start the game with capo and deity, or cyber and his brother. frankly, I am at a loss.

I think that the best solution is in fact to split into three games. Start one Pacific Diplo-game thread, one Euro Diplo-Game thread and one American Diplo-Game thread.

The result is that, hopefully, we will have 3 small but viable groups. If we do some active recruiting. Here on the forum and among our civ-playing friends, we should be able to gather together at least 4 players pr game. Hopefully more, preferably 8.

I am going to start the European Diplo-Game Thread. Although I would have liked for everyone who has voiced interest here at the forums to be in one game, it is simply not possible under the current availabilities of the participants.

If some of the non-euros can make it so that they can join us, feel free, we would be delighted to have any one of you with us. But we cant keep trying to fit square boxes through round holes.
