Not this week for me. This whole week is hectic. Saturday I'm speaking at/tabling at a conference all day (and it starts early) and Friday is my last day at my office, and I have to be there.

So the 3rd would be very difficult to squeeze in based on everyone's times. After work for me (after 17:00 or 18:00ish EST) and ending no later than 24:00 (or is it 0:00?) I suppose I could squeeze in a 3-4 hour session in there. But it'll be tight.

And no, when you play football you're not allowed to catch the ball with your hands, that's why it's named football. Call it american football, if you want, but not just plain football.

i cant stand soccer either... or rather, to play soccer, and even the poorly named american sport football is quite enjoyable. sitting still watching is sooooooo boring.

but logically, "soccer" should be called football (as it is in europe and the rest of the world) and american "football" where you kick the ball only a few times during the entire game... something else. like "wimp-rugby" or something similar

Alright everyone!

Football in the United States and Canada is called Football because you weren't allowed to use your hands in the early incarnations of the game. The term comes from this era when everything from what we call Soccer to Rugby was referred to as "football." Later the rules were changed to allow forward passing to make the game more interesting. The reason we refer to American Football here as simply Football is the same reason you guys did, because that is the most popular type of football played here. Also the British felt that all types of football should have similar rules, so they insisted that the game once known as Ballown, be changed to simply "North American football" so they can hold it under the same category as the other sports (called football too) in order to create uniform rules. Your so called football isn't really that, it is a short version of "Association Football" wheras North American Football was actually called "Ballown," which simply refers to two sides attempting to control the ball. Football is not really the name of a single sport, but a TYPE of sport. Rugby, Australian football, North American football and soccer- err "Association football" all fall under this category.

So if you really want to know why we call it that call your boys in Great Britain and ask them why they are such control freaks.

Anyway, let's get back to the discussion of this game.

I looked as some of the time frames the other night, and while Deity and DD have yet to post their availability we seem to be getting a time frame that would put the game on Friday. Now the times would be very different for everyone, Cybershy, the Yanks and Kuno are going to have to make some sacrafices in order to get this to work, it seems that there is a period between 17.00 GMT and 24.00 GMT which we are going to have to fit our game into.

Which, so Ozzy and DD can follow would have us playing anywhere from 12pm to 7pm.

The problem here is that Kuno's times and ours are pretty dramatically opposed. I believe he is GMT + 10/11, which means, basically it would be between 10/11pm and 5/6am the next day. So if we can get something to work out here we MAY have a chance, but according to his actual availability times, he can't play after what would be 1pm for those of us on the USEST time zone.

I have now managed to confuse myself here, so if anyone can try and figure out a way to make this work, that would be fantastic.

I'm not sure if DeityDude and Ozzy can play one more hour extra on friday, then we would be able to play 3,5 hours every friday, which is quiet a lot imho.

Unfortunately FlyBoy21a really doens't fit our schedule
Between 15:00 and 18:00 GMT there's a possibility for a 4 player game as well.

The red boxes show two timeframes in which 4 and 5 players are available.
