Sorry toni for scaring you. But i would have done the same for anyone i saw doing that same strat as you.

With 3 workers and 2 cities so early, i knew your defences would be very weak, and yes you had no defences in capital. I wasnt planning to take your cap, just a few workers to slow you down.

If you chose to go ultra quick expansion, it may work vs the AI to rush build before barbs appear. But with humans we know your sneaky plans and will counter you.

Just look at your score now toni, becuase you got away with your fast start your score is high, had i been ljube, you owuld have been conquered very easily. So think about this for next game. May not be me next time, i know trev would do the same.

At the time you had 2 warriors, i have 3 war chariots built had we been alittle closer i could have tacken all 3 workers easily.

Anyway its a good start to a game. Was happy to scare the crap out of toni.

Taking the workers as punishment is a good way to go when someone does not defend, they are the most costly build of the time except for settlers, and therefore does result in a real cost to the poor defender and a real benefit to the conqueror of the worker.

Hi trev, just wondering if you can make it for a Sat game and what time will that be. When u find out what time u will get out from work just let us know. Mike can play on Sat till 7pm so i think we got some hrs there to fit our game.

I am working tomorrow again, will have no real idea when I will finish work until the day commences and I see what deliveries I am given, therefore I cannot say in advance whether I can begin playing civ at 1pm or 5pm or even later.

Saturday is slightly restricted for me - probably not much earlier than 2pm start and may have to finish 5/6pm.

Great game yesterday guys.

We got the Russian empire spreading cities and claiming back slowly its top score position. On the other hand we have the Egyptians becoming the center of religion in the world, a fanatical nation which should be watched closely. Then we have the Chinese’s nations one in the south spreading and developing quietly and one in the north jungle territories devoting itself to great people, fighting cultural pressure and slowly claming back land from the jungle infested territories. And last but not least we have the nation of England devoted to development and trying to hold on its score lead.

Rain, rain and yet more rain.

It never stops raining in the darkest depths of amazonia. The rain, thick jungles, snakes, spiders, we have it all.

The mighty egyptian empire has literaly choped its self an empire out of this never ending jungle.

Egypt was left with little choice with only desert on a thin peninusal to the west and ocean to the north, the only expansion was the east and south, with jungle as the only land.

An expansion struggle with the Trevians to the east was the main obstacle. Egypts military might ensured it could get it lands, and even allowed the chinese to settle a city even though we could have killed there settler easily. The gods smiled on Mike the merciful. Barbians razed the Chinese city. Seeing this the Egyptian Hindu go commanded its people to settle the area, we gave them there chance.

While egyptians slaved away in the dark deepths of amazonia, they found a new spirtiual faith, Hindu. This faith was quickly spread around the empire and into the neighbouring chinese and russians empires.

Due to the length and deepth of the jungle new faiths were discovered, Judiaism & christainty. With these faith our people have choped out there empire and are enjoying rapid population & economic growth as the rich jungle lands slowly give way too vast swaths of useable land.

Egypt in its reichious might, will rise up out of the jungle and claim its rightful place among leaders of nations one way or the other. It is Egypts mainefest destiny to rule over lesser people's. Its is Gods will and we will follow his will and spread the only 1 true god to all the peoples of the land.

It's great to see Trev hanging in there but I hope he's going straight to Astronomy and not addicted to the Liberalism/Democracy route. In our diplo game I had an even worse start than I think Trev has here. I simply went straight to Astronomy (125 turns to get just Astronomy); and it paid off enormously. (Tech trading was allowed in the diplo so it was a bit easier of course but I'd still do it here as I did in the big 8 way with Ljube)

Getting the New World cities is why I think the Terra map balances things out if you get a bad start. I think Frank said that Terra maps force land powers and sea powers. I find this much more interesting and challenging than balanced continents.
