The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

The reason for a membership list is that AU course designers have a central point which shows them how many people are playing the games. Also and more importantly to give them an indication of the playing styles and experience of the members.
If the majority of players play at Warlord for example - it might be a good idea to develop a course at the next level. To bring them up a level in experience.

Excellent, AU lives! And this time, I'm a newbie to the game (mostly). Hell, I don't even own it yet.
Dom's opening post is great stuff, with my one caveat being that I don't personally care for the whole points system thing. It's not going to actively bother me, though, so I guess there isn't any reason to object.
I'm not a huge fan, but IIRC there was a whole selection process - several designs, several votes, and this was the result. Clearly SOMEBODY liked it.
Democratic elections are often a matter of settling for the best choice out of what is available rather than of being entirely happy with what we choose. If someone can come up with an AU icon that a majority of people like better, we can change. Unless and until someone does, we'll stick with what we have as the best anyone's come up with so far.

Ain't THAT the truth! Agreed - if someone wants to spend time and effort coming up with something better (a little graduate's hat & tassle thingy, maybe?), great. But then again, the game just came out, so I expect most of us (at least in the US) will be consumed with that.
hey, this sounds like politics. half the world is starving and politicians are talking about which president to put on the new coins or what should be the colour of the new chairs in the parlour.
here, instead of discussing the icon and the pros and cons of AU democracy, the most important issue is: WHO is going to volunteer to help in civ4 and doing what.
dominae created a nice list, although half of the comments and ideas in this thread were not considered. are there any volunteers?

to make a start, i'll repeat that i'm willing to help on the wikipedia part (i'm still hoping mark will seriously consider it because the forum structure just isn't flexible enough) and maybe on other administrative functions...

Please feel free to post any and all ideas you have on the aspects you want to help out with. This will work better if Lord Nuclear or I do not have to coordinate everything.
So get out there and start a new thread on scoring, or report structure, or student registry; discussion will happen!
