I am looking forward to playing the first AU game.

Velocyrix: I am just glad I have an internet connection at work, otherwise I would never be online.

The wife a longer list for me than work does. Tomorrow is decorating for Christmas day. Actually next WEEK is decorating for Christmas day. hehe We have way too many decorations. I think the lights dim throughout the southern U.S. when I finally turn all the lights on.

I'm sure it will be fine.

Now that the patch is out, I have a candidate scenario for our first Civ IV AU game. I'm going to play it out for a while to make sure it still looks good as things develop before I post it.

LOL Velociryx. You sound a lot like me. I work 7 12-hour days every week, from 4 pm to 4 am.

Take it from someone who knows: You work too much!

    Hmmm....

    Still accepting applications?

    Condensed Resume:

    SMAC/SMAX:
    ....nothing really....

    Civ III:
    * 3 Strategy Threads early on in the game's life cycle

    * Alamo Scenario, which was something of a "proto-AU" scenario, just when the school was finding its feet

    Civ IV:
    * 1 Strat thread nearing capacity, a second one about to begin

I'd like to participate as much as time will allow, however, I'm about to start a night job, which will put me getting up at 5:30am, and getting home at just past midnight, monday - friday, from now till ~ the end of February, so I may not be able to do much during that timeframe....but there's always weekends....

I don't think it's wise to go down the scoring route for AU, for results or for attendance.

Great to see all the enthusiasm and ideas!!!

Lemme catch up on all the threads to date in this forum, like I did in the Strat forum, and then I'll start chiming in too.

/me goes off to read some *more*.

I'm not sure if anyone else has seen or used this tool before, but I've used it a bit in the past for other "school" systems(my wife's Harry Potter online school) and Moodle works pretty well. Its easy to set up, and it depending on what people want, its pretty flexible to modifications. Oh, and its free.

    Thanks everyone for your offers.

Please feel free to post any and all ideas you have on the aspects you want to help out with. This will work better if Lord Nuclear or I do not have to coordinate everything.

So get out there and start a new thread on scoring, or report structure, or student registry; discussion will happen!

    Hey all,

I loitered alot in the old AU, never once posting I dont think but playing through most of the games put up and reading quite a few of the posts.

I'm willing to be alot more helpful this time around so I hope I can find something to help out.

Perhaps I could do something simple like organise the scoring system for now if you dont have anyone else to do it?

    *shrugs* let me know guys.

I'm new to AU, though I think it's a fantastic idea!

I'll be glad to help, just let me know where I can contribute most effectively

I'm good at organising things, report/guide writing, and similar tasks.

Lately I've been involved in re-engineering a teaching program for university AI students, and I love dabbling about with AI, setting up courses, etc.

As I live in a somewhat backwards part of europe, I don't have the civ4 yet ,though If I'm lucky I'll find it tomorrow

to make a start, i'll repeat that i'm willing to help on the wikipedia part (i'm still hoping mark will seriously consider it because the forum structure just isn't flexible enough) and maybe on other administrative functions...

hey, this sounds like politics. half the world is starving and politicians are talking about which president to put on the new coins or what should be the colour of the new chairs in the parlour.

here, instead of discussing the icon and the pros and cons of AU democracy, the most important issue is: WHO is going to volunteer to help in civ4 and doing what.

dominae created a nice list, although half of the comments and ideas in this thread were not considered. are there any volunteers?
