Didn't vote because PtW wasn't on there.
Started with CIV III--never played any of the others. CIV III, while remarkable and fascinating, is no match for PtW. Problems w/ PtW are minor and easily surmountable through the editor. Don't play MP, so don't know about those problems.
Any of you old enough to remember a time before computer games? Those of us who wanted S&T games played the old Avalon Hill board games--and solotaire play met "moding" the board game as you went along.
With more time on my hands than I've had in the last 20 years I went looking for a good S&T game for my computer. All were carp until someone showed me CIV III and I fell in love. Then PtW came out and it was pure lust!
I'm really curious about CIV II, though. If I can find it, I'll buy it.
