    Yep... they had both converted to my religion by then, one was friendly and the other only pleased. Guess which one died first I waited for cannons before taking the other one out.

      im kickin @$$ this game, from previous post, cruising and bruising (no SoD yet(40 cavalry/210 infrantry/weak siege but building/weak navy but getting combustion in 3 turns), just built the factories/coal plants and suffering the unhealthiness and trying to counteract it first, playing the specialists strategy this game, my production is awesome hehehe, lol). already got a volunteer vassal, took over two cities on that subcontinent i mentioned earlier (didnt like them expanding on my newly claimed land, lol, ), only 6 civs, 3 left lol, my score has skyrocketed since getting those two vassals, almost over 4000 now and its still early like 1700 a.d., if i play this right this might be one of my highest scores yet, will post results. ive had better science but my production is extremely high even before factories/coal plants, i can build an formidable army in 5 turns (marathon speed), once my unhealthiness is over i think im just gonna start the killin, 2nd is close in tech but far behind in power/prod, he will fall fast. i'll get a domination win once i make him my biatch, lol.

        I've never really cared about score. I judge more on how difficult I thought it was.

          I agree... I've played some really difficult games, had a lot of fun, and pulled out the victory, but have gotten terrible scores. Some of my highest scores have come in games at lower difficulty levels, where I've just pounded the AI's. The scores aren't something I would point at to prove how good I was

            well, 2nd now was the early leader, tech and power wise. i mentioned earlier that i caught up tech wise but was 2nd power then alittle after 2nd crossover 3rd DoW on me with laughable invading army (2 knights and one trab) lol. i had just gotten riflemen and easily beat them, took the 15-20 turns to modernize and build knights of my own til i got cavalry then modernize them, built 30 cavalry in those 15 turns and turned everyone else into riflemen after which i was by far the new power leader, ive been cruising now and got two biatches already and will win tonight possible early, im building the army now. cavalry are obsolete though cuz 2nd has riflemen so will use artillery/infantry/destroyers for the takeover (mind as well since infantry make good defensive units too). most of my cities can make them in 4 turns or less (ive got about 20 cities out of my now 46 that can crank out units very fast especially for marathon). will post final score as i think i could get close if not more than 40,000! highest for me thus far is a diplo victory in vanilla and my score was 39,000. but i must say so far this has been very easy but thats due to my good decision making and careful planning. also, i dont coward before anyone, i never give in, two of the 6 are furious with me but FEAR ME muah hahahahaha, lol.

              Having a good game at the moment...

              Civ -- Mehmed (Ottoman)
              difficulty=Monarchy
              speed=Normal, 8 civs/default - no tech trading/brokering
              Civ=Expansive, Organized
              map=pangea
              map size=standard
              Govt=Representative
              Science percentage=100%
              Gold = -3/turn (427 on hand)
              Beakers=179
              Turn=166

              I had 5 cities and had Pyr/Oracle. At turn 168, I found myself at war with 3 other civs. Once was a lone Chinese city nearby; not problem. Another was repetitive stacks of cat/horse archer/war ele coming through my neighbor's land. This was annoying, but reasonably easy to defend. After the third stack, I sued for peace, getting all his money and a good world map.

              The third was my neighbors to the north, Spanish/Isabella. I sent a stack of mace/treb/knights/janissaries) up there and eliminated her (7 cities). It's the back end of the continent, so I kept all cities, picking up a couple WOWs along the way. Had cannons by the last 3 cities. Resistance is futile!

              I lost crossover during the wars, regaining it at 187/184 (80%, +4/turn). Currently I'm rocking along at Turn 255 (1725 AD), gettign 509/turn at 70% (+12 gold/turn).

              I now have the home cities of 4 religions (Confusianism (state religion), Judaism and Christianity from Isabella, plus Islam which I grabbed just for fun). Is it time to spread them to all my cities and go to Free Religion?

              I now have just one border (with my best buddy, Hammurabi), so I'm just building a SOD in my production/military city while I crank out some Great Persons.

              I'm actually at a point where I'm unsure where to go next. Corporations? Democracy? Reveal oil and coal?

                And this is the reason we like this game. Decisions, decisions!

                  Assembly line for Infantry. The AI will usually head towards Democracy for the civic and SOL. Your Infantry should be able to take the SOL around when it's completed.

                    Here's another shot:

                    Monarch, standard speed.
                    No random events, no huts, no tech brokering.
                    Regular barbs.

                    Random civ : Mansa Musa

                    Turn 133, Beakers 136, Gold -1
                    Number of cities 6 (3 built, 1 from barb, 2 from Ottoman)

                    Main event: attacked neighbor Ottoman with a skirmisher rush since his capital has 2 gems and he was progressing too fast (he was at the top of the score scale) for me to build another city and connect either horse or copper before building troops. Took two of his cities, including the two-gem capital. My 9 skirmishers attack force saw only two defenders in the capital but when I declared and attacked it turned into 2 axemen, 1 spear and one archer. I lost 5 skirmishers but got his capital anyway. The second city was taken by elephants and catapults with no losses.

                    Current war readiness: 7 elephants 3 catapults ready to take the rest of the Ottoman cities. One settler standing around right at the spot where I want to build another city but is waiting until I got this crossover thing over with since another new city will take dozens of turns to break even . Since I'm going to take several more cities from the Ottoman anyway. another city is not even desirable, I just want to make sure nobody else take the coastal spot with wine and corn.

                      I love the skirmishers for early rushes. Granted, it works better on the mid levels and not the highest levels, but they are a lot of fun. And even if I can't take a lot of cities, they are great for pinching neighbors. You can easily destroy or sit on their strategic resources since they are so hard to kill early on.

                        I remember one MP game where my neighbor (believe it or not it was Eyes of night) was choking me with warriors so I couldn't connect copper, and they were showing up faster than I could kill them. And it wasn't till much later that I realized that I was the mali and could have easily handled them with skirmishers. DOH.

                          Crossover at around 170 last night. That seems to be pretty consistent for me. Mansa Musa this time.

                            My best ever crossover last night...

                            Civ -- Hatsephut (Egyptian)
                            difficulty = Noble
                            speed = Normal, 8 civs/default - no tech trading/brokering
                            Civ = Spiritual/Creative
                            map = continents
                            map size = standard
                            Govt = Representative
                            Science percentage = 70%
                            Gold = -1/turn (173 on hand)
                            Beakers = 133
                            Turn = 124

                            I might have crossed over a couple turns earlier; didn't notice. The key to success was great land and nice neighbors (Mansa Musa, Zara Yaqob). Lots of flood plains and plenty of production. Copper in the cap's BFC, other strategic resources within reach. I've got 6 good cities and will end up with 8 before I go out and conquer the world.

                              This game has gone extremely well. It's my fastest run to Steel, ever. Got it at turn 197. Sitting at 260 science (iirc) at 40%, with a Great Eng and Great Artist ready to help. Next Great Scientist will trigger a Golden Age and some serious ass-kicking.

                              All paused for Christmas festivities now. Can't wait to return.

                                my fastest crossover yet, got the planet generator map script, one word: "AWESOME", very customizable but tundra and ice tend to get too close to the equator for my tastes, really "HUGE" maps too, AWESOME, .

                                willem/netherlands creative/financial
                                prince
                                huge map (way bigger than huge, i forget the dimensions but around 3x that of huge, i could go one size bigger too)
                                5 huge continents
                                10 civs, (i wanted us all to have more space and make it harder, i couldve had at least 12 civs w/ ample land still with the way the map came out)
                                marathon
                                no tech trading/brokering (always, )
                                rep govt
                                190 A.D. turn 123 (369 really but this is marathon so divide by 3)
                                +141 beakers @ 60%
                                -3 gold/turn but with 126 treasury

                                im off to the big lead again as far as score, but only 2nd in power. we are all going to get huge with this size of map, gonna be very interesting and exciting, theres enough room for us all to have near 100 cities each, seriously . but im sure wars will be coming, will take awhile for troop movement with the map being this big, only drawback with this script is the resource generation, not much variety at all on our continent.
