Gee, I hope you're a bit more cheery in real life.
When we played CIV II you could play at deity and win quite easily almost every time. The only fun became playiing other humans since the AI Sucked so bad. It was not challanging and people complained.
Now we have civ IV where Unless I'm playing OCC I have never gotten close to winning at the hardest level.
HURRAY. I'm thrilled that I can't, so the game is still challangeing. I can win consistently at noble and prince. I stand a chance at monarch or emp. But still get creamed above that. The game is still a challange. I prefer that the hardest difficulty level be almost impossible to win. It gives you something to shoot for in the long term. For those that want to win more frequently there are easier levels.
Much better than a game where after you play it a handful of times you know enough to beat it routinely at the most difficult level. This way I feel I'm getting my money's worth.
