Now dont get me wrong, I dont always run a specialist economy, Usually its cottage spammage. But even towns dont creat much in the way of hammers. I wanted to keep all my forests and be able to crank Jannissaries when available.

Games that are a fight to survive are the best. Hauptman, you'll be on the edge of your seat and not bored, you're lucky to have it.

I only survived the mideval era because I had that perfect 'blockage' city on a hill, that seperated me from EVERYONE else. All of my militarty might could then be focused on one square.

For hundreds of turns, they each took turns trying to break my line, only to try again when they rebuilt there forces.

Finished the game last night. Noone had any techs I didnt, I was working on modern armor and no one else had tanks. Once I beat off the chinese hordes I wiped him off the planet. Thus securing domination.

I did have friendly vassals, ghandi, hatshepsut, khan, and charlamaign. all long term vassals that became friendly.

Maybe I should try another emporer game, philo of course.
