I think the idea is that most of the civs in the game are civs that make sense from a game point of view; that is, civs that at one point or another, were the most advanced in the world or at least in their geographic area, or the most cultrually advanced, or had a huge empire. Some of the ones in BTS, not as much, they're already starting to reach a little bit on some of them. But most of the civs in the game really were at some point in a position where they could have ended up dominating the world.

Supermarket comes in too late, imo. And eventhought he Israeli faction would then be without a "real" and the whole idea of it being quite silly, Jail it would come in an appropriate time. There's no other Industrial Age improvements that I could think of to replace the Kibbutz and since the Supermarket comes way too late for it to have any kind of an impact in the game and would not reflect the ideals of the Kibbutz either.
The Kibbutz should come in when Nationalism and Socialism (Communism) are invented since it still remains a communal effort. Other possibilities would be the espionage improvements but I don't think they fit as a Kibbutz any better than transforming Jail into it does. Also, it wouldn't be the only improvement to stray away from the original improvement and when you compare this alteration to for example the Indian Mausoleum, it's not that strange anymore.
Well, just my thoughts.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Ah yes, it could well be Grocer too. In fact, this would probably be better than the whole Jail thing. Good call.
Kibbutz (Replaces Grocer)
+25%
Can Turn 2 Citizens into Merchant
+1From Banana, Spices, Sugar, Wine
-20% Reduced City Maintenance
+2(or alternatively +0.5
from Banana, Spices, Sugar, Wine)
Since the Kibbutz is a communal thing, and is essentially about supporting themselves (without getting into the Kibbutz philosophy too much), I think a reduction in city maintenance would be a natural choice for it, along with the food boost. I think it's logical for the Kibbutz to produce 2 food since it essentially supports itself, so in theory you could feed a specialist by having a Kibbutz in town.Last edited by Fleme; January 25, 2008, 19:00."The state is nothing but an instrument of oppression of one class by another--no less so in a democratic republic than in a monarchy."

I love the idea of adding Israel/Judea as a Civ.
But leaving out the Mossad as the special unit is would be a crime! What about making it a Spy unit that can assassinate an enemy unit?
Now about other leaders for Civ's; how about Andrew Jackson for the U.S.? He is different than the other three (and hated by many) and would probably be Aggressive/Organized. The reason I suggest Jackson is that his policies (like 'em or hate 'em) altered the face of the U.S. forever.
For Spain why not add El Cid as a leader? He did rule Valencia (as a Principality) for five years. I know he's already a Great General in the game but why can't he be both? It would give Spain a little variety. I would guess he would be Charismatic/Protective.
For France I'd like to see one or two of the Merovingians represented. Clovis and Dagobert I are the two I'd shoot for. Clovis would be Organized/Spiritual and Dagobert I would (probably) be Protective/Expansive.Last edited by PohlSE; January 28, 2008, 19:58.
