"The Malinese people are bragging about their truffles, claiming they are the best...
So here goes. An early shot of my civ and the offshore lands. I know more about them now, there's more than 2 but these appear to be the bigguns so far. The islands lead to SmanII who appears to live alone.
Hope that works. :crossfingers:

umm.. there should be a "DIRECT LINK TO IMAGE" box on Imageshack with a URL there. copy the entire url and [IMG] tag it here. ALSO you can go higher than 800X768. I would at least go to 1078 X or so...
also DO NOT URL tag it. You only need the IMG tag.
Image is fine as it is. Too big screenshots sometimes mess up the forum geometry.
That's a very sweet starting spot. 2 seafoods, which are good for early growth because you don't need to halt it by building a worker. 2 pig and 1 agricultural (wheat? maize?) resources to feed your people later and even fund some specialists. Stone. Hills for production. Save a cash resource everything is there. Should make up for a kickass capital.

Ok, I hit Prtscr, went to paint and pasted, cut it to 800 wide, saved it as a jpeg. How do I post it here?

SR, yeah it's good. That's Maize (Corn) Lots of wooded hills that give hammers without mining. The clams...everything says power in that city without slowing growth. The Civ could use some growth but the cap is making the Great Lighthouse to pay for it all. The city just south of the cap is the holy city.
My goal is to get out into the islands. I love islands.
I hope the Mali give me time. There's double archers in each city just in case, but that's not enough really. Need to focus on military soon...
Modo, thanks for the help.
Fleme, what's "forum ranks"?

I'm depending on my common religion, archers and coming soon walls to hold off the Mali until I can get alphabet and trade down for the stuff I've missed.
Here's a shot of the islands, then I'm going to play a bit. I'll keep you posted.

Found another small three hex isle to the south of the large isle with desert. That's the end of the line until culture boundries cross the one hex of ocean. Beyond that is what I call the loom of the land. There's something down there!
SmanII adopted Judaism.

Mansa isn't known for early wars, at least that's what I know of him. But he usually develops into a powerhouse later, if left unchecked, which can be a nuisance. So look out to cull him a bit.
I'm an island nut as well, at least when it comes to Civ.
