  • BTS Bugs?

Just noticed a few weird/annoying things in my game:

First I got this mission from one of my corporations:

Notice that it says "You will need to obtain new sources of 0 different resource types ()"

Without doing anything this turn I got a message the next turn that I have succeeded the mission

I also noticed something annoying with the scoreboard:

Look at the finish date, it just says "January", but not which year
This space is empty... or is it?

does anyone know the rate at which you can propose resolutions in the apostolic palace?

also, its weird that it would give you that mission because it seems you completed it by already having all the resources.

on the scoreboard, can't you just widen the column?

I tried, but it wont work. Trying to widen it only sorts the rows

I've been having some bugs too. Specifically, after building the Apostolic Palace or the UN, theres one vote for secretary general and then thats it, not another vote the whole game. Whats going on here?

Anyone find any odd Governor behaviour?

In a previous game during a navel blockade my city was in starvation as 5 or 6 population who were bringing food in from the sea became citizens. Fine. I cleared the blockade and as the Governor was on maximize food, I expected the citizens to return to work in the sea. I checked next turn (and again the turn after) and no, they remained citizens. I.E. The city continued in starvation with citizens, even though the blockade had been cleared.

In my current game, one of my cities is also in starvation due to unhappiness (due to size). However, there is a farm not being worked, which when I allocate the population manually to it, the city starts growing again. Now you may say the Governor has other priorities rather than growth, but the thing is- the only emphasize I have on, is emphaze food!

That's really nothing new. I've had cases of the governor either starving a city or allowing static growth ever since the game originally came out, even though there were tiles that could easily have been worked. Which is one of the reasons why I don't use the governors. Aside from early in the game, I manage my cities manually.

Yeah, I've only built the AP so far in a couple games, and it seems that the re-election and resolution proposal is happening FAR too infrequently, something like every 50-75 turns on Marathon.

True, that could happen easily with the default AI in vanilla CiV and Warlords, however I remember that later versions of Blake's BetterAI got it right. I.E. If you selected emphasize food, the population switched to do that. Now it seems, in this feature anyway, the BtS governor AI is not as useful as the Warlords BetterAI.

It's way too long time between them. It should be possible to start a voting whenever you want to, not when the game decides it's time (of course with limits so that you can't hold a new election every two turns)

been fiddling around with it, and i'm fairly sure that to even shoot for a 'religious' victory, every rival must be at least a voting member of the AP. i wish that was a little better documented. if not everyone is a member, the only resolutions that pop up are to stop wars between members.

I wish the AP had more extensive documentation, it would have been nice to know this as monty kept my missionaries locked out of his borders for over a thousand years..

My governors have been ****ing up something rotten. Especially with free specialists, who are often made into the ****ing basic citizens, either that or tonnes of Priests, and even when I tell them no, it gets changed back (Presumably when the city builds something allowing different specialists or grows). This is getting as annoying as civ 3 and having to check cities for unhappiness every damn turn!

Is anyone else able to initiate Golden Ages with only ONE great person??

                        *scratches head*
One of these days I'll make 501 posts, and you won't have to look at my silly little diplomat anymore.
"Oh my God, what a fabulous room. Are all these your guitars?"

That's as it's supposed to be. BTS allows for a bit of an easier first golden age.

Things will proceed normally from there - you'll need 2 GPs for your second, 3 for your third, and so on.

Does anyone have a funny little .5-1 second lag when a talking-head pops up? I didn't have it at all with a boxed version of warlords, but with a steam version of civ+bts, everything runs great except for that weird stutter before a diplomacy head pops up. It's not unplayable or anything, but it's certainly obnoxious, especially when warlords ran great!

No, I still had it happen with later versions of Blake's Better AI. Not often, but it did occur.
