I would wager that either:
High-powered artillery & Mobile artillery are one and the same unit, or
a unit used only in a scenario such as Next War (or one of them is a unique unit).
As I read, a lot of these posts are very negative. And, believe me, I'm all about being critical of the gaming industry but shouldn't we at least allow for explanation of the new items included in the expansion before saying they're going to be lame? (Cristo Redentor)
It has always been my belief that the gaming industry should be bold with expansions and include a lot of new content. If you think about it Civ 4 was 50 bucks when it first came out, the expansion will be 30 bucks doesn't that mean the expansion should include 60% new content? If not they'd be cheating us.
As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit

Most XP's are for sale for $10-15 in 3 months.
And nobody is cheating anyone, the prize you have to pay is the price you want to pay.
If people would buy the XP for $100 then it's fair to sell it for $100.
People who complain about high prices apparantly buy stuff at those prices. If you think it's too expensive, don't buy it.
It's a complaint I've heard too often.
Free Market means that you can try to sell your stuff at the price you want, and it also means that the customers can ignore something.
If a price is too high then it only means that the people pay too much.

There is a problem with your logic here, and that is the cost of distribution.
Most game developers do NOT get the bulk of the money from sales, the retailer(online or stores), the publisher, and the distributor all take in their share. This would normally make it better to buy from the developer directly, but in most cases, they don't do direct sales. The publisher doesn't want to alienate the stores that sell the products, so they don't have a lower price than the stores do.
Then you have shipping from publisher to whatever place you buy the game(or expansion from), the costs to package the product, and the fact that an expansion takes just as much space in the warehouse as a full $60 game title. Just having an expansion pack in stock means that is less physical room for a full game which sells for more money.
In time, we may see more developers who sell directly as their only sales model, which has the potential to lower product costs. I've always felt that if you buy a product as a download, you should pay at least $10 less for that downloaded version, though the bandwidth of said download might force the price back up because when you upload a LOT, ISPs tend to want to be paid a lot more than a normal Internet connection.
Yeah Methos, you don't have the only site where Firaxians post, you know
Previews should definitely be taken with a grain of salt - as should be anything not said directly by a Firaxian. Previews (and that's the case with all games) may often have misleading information.

I sure hope the units at the front this picture aren't the mobile artillery. Those would be called MLRS (multiple launch rocket system) in the real world. They aren't artillery, they are rocket launchers. Real mobile artillery looks like this.

Yup. When it comes to Civ, Firaxis listens even to crazed forumites' ideas for spamming purposes.

given that a lot of crappy civs and leaders will inevitably get into the game, will there be a possibility to have random opponents, but to EXCLUDE some civs from the game? i mean, i do not want to play against khmer and the like.
