  • New Civs for BtS

This will not be a poll so just come up with a list of 7 civs you think or want (or both) to added in Beyond the Sword. (7 because we know 3. Also make sure 1 is Native American since we know one will be.)

    Isreal
    Ethiopia
    Byzantines
    Apache
    Hittites
    Some Southeast Asia Civ
Holy Roman Empire (the one Charlemagne made, not the union of small states)

Well, we know the Dutch, Babylonians, and Portugese are in.

If I recall correctly, the First Nations leader we've seen is Sitting Bull, which would make a Lakota Sioux civ likely.

Six left. I'd like to see the Byzantines, Axumites/Ethiopians, Mayans, Khmer or Vietnamese, Polish, and... um... let's say Polynesian.

                Known: Dutch, Portugal, Babylon

Probable: Sioux (most civs tend to resurface if they were brought out in earlier versions)

Six I'd like: Morocco, Siam (Thailand), Khmers, Maya, Ethiopia, Hatti

May see (due to being around before): Byzantines, Iroquois

Will: I'd love to see Frankland (Charlemagne's empire) too, but I think that we will probably have to settle with France and Germany.

Charlemagne would be good but making the Holy Roman Empire a separate civ instead of just adding an extra leader to France or Germany would be a little too much. The HRE is too similar to these other two to make a good new civ.

Personally, I would like to see someone cool, like a female Celtic leader, in the XP. After all, I'm both female AND Celtic. Cartimandua would be very nice , but unlikely. Boudica would make me happy too. (I could always change the name.)

I'd say Navajo for the native american one, but since Sitting Bull is the leaderhead, I'd have to guess Sioux. For the others, it'd be cool to have the Mayans, Assyrians, Hebrews, Thai, Moors, and Byzantines.

I'm actually kind of surprised that Charlemagne hasn't been a leader yet; I suppose part of the reason is that he's hard to qualify as France vs. Germany. Lots of traits to choose from: Imperialistic, Charismatic, Creative, Aggressive, Philosophical...

Let's hope he's one of the new leaders.

The Moai wonder makes the Polynesians seem likely.

unlikely to see native americans like the apache and navajo. While civ does stretch history a bit, they are more likely to pick native american tribes that resembled civilizations a little more. Or at least have been in civ games before. Sioux and Iroquois will be the most likely candidates.

Hebrews- I have a feeling they will be in. And I wouldn't be surprised if there was a middle east scenario (though they might not do it for PC reasons).

dutch, babylonians, portuguese, we know these. What does that leave?

                              byzantines- maybe, though unlikely

polynesians- good guess above. Very likely to see them in.
