The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

I'm with you that the main necessity is they be optional. Aside from that, if they must be included, do it better than C3C (i.e., human quickly sees slight adjustment that eliminates danger from random events, while AI disregards said danger).
Overall, it looks interesting enough for me to pick it up, if only for the new civs and scenarios, plus the addition of corporations. I'm looking forward to seeing how that one is done.
The new Civs open up the way for interesting scenarios, and I'm really curious about those corporations. I guess it can seriously empower a builder Civ that chooses to expand its power through peaceful means, and I like that
I'm curious about the Apostolic Palace. It's not cited as a wonder, so maybe it comes bundled with a religion (maybe it's a wonder that can be founded by a great prophet, even?). That, combined with new UN resolutions, might make that part of the game more interesting. And I guess you'll have to emphasize on religion for the Apostolic palace to be efficient for you - at least, I hope so
The new buildings and units are a fairly standard fare for an expansion. However, I'm interested by the buildings they added in the late game. Generally, during the late game, I ujst churn out units for lack of buildings to construct. With more buildings in the late game, the choice between guns and butter will continue to the end.
Overall, I hope their emphasis on the late game and the space race will make the late game more dynamic: i.e that a late civ isn't doomed to lose by late game, and that an advanced civ isn't bound to win.
Generally speaking, I hope the emphasis on the late game and random events ( ) will help against a pet peeve of mine with Civ: the player starts with a long-term goal for 6000 years in the future, and there's no here-and-now. As a result, in the late game, you harvest what you sowed for the entire duration of the game: there's rarely much suspense at that point.
I am strongly in favour of random events, but that's because I enjoy Civ for "playing history". I understand some players enjoy Civ because they enjoy devising strategies and testing their wits, so I sure hope the random events will be disableable

Ha, Warlords didn't really have much in that regard. Trebuchets were the only notable unit addition, as the Triremes were unimportant given how Warlords screwed barbarians up. And I don't think WL added any buildings per se, although the addition of unique civ buildings is actually something I liked.

Ah yeah, Stables. But really, the lack of buildings isn't a complaint I have against Warlords. First, the unique buildings are nice. Second, I'd never advocate having buildings just for the sake of having more buildings - they need to fit well into the game.

It isn't that difficult to get barbarian ships into play, though I only recently found out how:
1) For ships you want barbs to have available, remove their listing from the barbarian section of CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml.
2) Lower iUnownedWatertilesPerBarbarianUnit in HandicapInfo.xml (for huge maps, I've got mine set in the 300-500 range).

So Solver, is there anything you can tell us about the new XP?
I've always wanted to be able to have some kind of heads up on what the enemy is doing.
So that if you have lots of spies or spend a lot of $ in espionage then you might get a heads up as to what plans the AI has, assuming the AI does plan anything.
Bribing enemy officials, capturing spies and interrogating them etc.

I'm not buying BtS until Firaxis impliments the "contiguous cultural border negates colony tax" concept.
In addition to the three civs mentioned, I think I’ll guess the following will be added
Mayans
Iroquois
Polynesians
Hebrew
One more European (Austria, Sweden, Poland?)
One further SE Asian civ (Viet?)
Maybe another African nation (Ethiopia?)
Perhaps another ancient civ (Lydians, Assyrians)
I think the Greeks probably need another leader too.
And what’s the chances of Hitler turning up as a leader choice?
