And much more of a war game than Civ2 for example.

Perhaps the changes to the space race victory will address this, but it seems (IMO) unlikely.

        • Sorry, we don't swing that way.

By the way, I have a new idea for my next "review" -- can't say what it is just yet. The last model was a Review Machine. This next one will be different but equally entertaining (I hope) and useless (hope not!).

Ummm.... and what have i contributed in the last 12 months?

But you never know what's in the pipeline eh?

                • A question about general strategy of civ4 and its upgrades. IIRC there was discussed something like that when civ4 was coming out, but I do not remember details. Would you have more info?

If BtS is going to be independent from Warlords, will we have later possibility to join features of both upgrades with original civ4, just in order to "play with everything"?

                  Any more future upgrades?

                  • When conquests came out it included the play the world XP so maybe it will be the same in this case?

The impression I got was that was a gesture to try and "make it up" to the community since PTW was such a steaming pile

                      • Yeah, I very much doubt they will do that this time.

                          1) I didn't think that PTW was such a bad thing. True, Conquests was a better expansion, but PTW wasn't that bad really.

                          2) Just so long as I don't need to buy Warlords in order to be able to use BtS, I'll be happy. There's nothing in Warlords that's so great that I'm willing to spend $50 for it, so I'll be annoyed if I have to buy it just to be able to use BtS.

What does PTW & BtS mean?

                            • BtS is Beyond the Sword . PtW is Play the World, the first expansion for Civ3.

                                OK, Thanx.

UnPaking that Asset0 file corrected my startup problem and switching from the Nvidia GeForce 6600 video card to the Radeon 9550 corrected both my lock-up problem and the "blinking" cursor problem.

The lockup problem was not the Nvidia card itself; it was the drivers that were causing the lock-up. Both the original drivers and the updated drivers.
