They also said that "2008" begins in this November. That makes a Christmas release possible (even probable). And, it's not too far out for an expansion for Civ4.Originally posted by wanderer27
From the write up (what little there was), it appeared to be targeting a 2008 release date.
That seems a bit far out for just an expansion.
Frankly, I don't expect anything earth shattering either. Mainly just some updates (graphics, AI, combat) and tweaks.

I agree Doctor, that "idle speculation on the x-pack" is not mutually exclusive of "waiting for real news on it."
Unfortunately, I added the word "just".
See, now I am idling. In this thread. But I am not speculating on the XP, 'cause I know it will be available when it is available, and will have the features it will have.

I liked that they tried to innovate some good new ideas, and introduce stuff to the series that had never been seen before. What I didn't like was the implementation -- breaking the game in the process wasn't worth the new stuff.Originally posted by Dis
I liked C3C- even if they did break some stuff.
Hopefully they've learned their lesson, and XP2 will be far, far better (maybe even in a Sidney Carton kind of way
).

It's way too soon for Civ 5. Especally since there's already a second service pack for Civ 4 in the works. Those who live by the sword...get shot by those who live by the gun.
