Can we all get the f*ck over this? A few VERY notable Apolytoners want to start a new DG (in fact I have a hard time spotting anyone in the "list of 19" for whom I don't have a tremendous amount of respect -- although this discussion is not contributing to that) and a few very notable Apolytoners who do not want to see this game started at this time. Both side have presented some very reasonable arguments (and both sides have posted a whole lot of bullsh*t). I don't give a rats arse about reputations of individual people myself (never have, in RL or online). I know the owners on this site feel the same way. If every single person involved in this was a Settler with no reputation (good or bad) our decision would not be any different than what it will be now (whatever it may be). It's about the number of people that are in various groups, the effects that this game will have on them (positive or negative) and how we can negate those effects if possible.

Apolyton has never played favourite to anyone and we never will.

      • Hey...Don't yell at me! You were the one who called them "notables".

I am just pointing out that the world's # 1 civ site is considering NOT hosting a DG on the latest incarnation of the game (or has Poly slipped to #2...or 3...or...)

        • Locutus. To this and your earlier posts.

And I apologize for bringing up past "experiences". But to be labelled a "bad sport" by Chrisius Minimus, given the events of the said game involved, or more specifically, the events after the DL was uncovered, was a bit too much to stomach.

For the sake of peace and quiet, I will now leave this thread. If and when a warlords game starts up, I will assess my, and a possible team's, entry, accordingly.

          Peace.

Once you used the word "but", you became an A$$.

Good ridance to you. You are a spreader of discontent.

            • Even reading Beta's post a second time makes me want to puke! What an infantile mind to even think in such terms! There is plenty that I could say, but I have truly agreed to let it lie in the past...and not make oxymoronic posts.

              Begone foul spot!!

English is not my native language. I was looking for a word similar to to oppose or to object to (by 'winning' the vote, or whatsoever). This site here recommended me to use veto. I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

I was merely trying to point out why the poll might not be democratic per se.

It was not aimed at you specifically. Just because there are notable people on one side of the fence doesn't mean there aren't any on the other side.

It was poorly worded by me but people with extensive DG experience were making comments based on that experience. They were making valid points and ones that an inexperienced newbies by definition cannot make. That doesn't make opposing arguments or arguments by newbies are less valuable but it does add valuable insight to the discussion.

PLATO, one more such comment and you are the one who will be begone! You are very, very lucky that I am the first to spot this, I think any other mod would've already banned you for that...

Attack the issue, not the poster. That goes for everyone else in this thread as well. Last warning!

When the poster uses duplicity in their statement to continue to raise an issue after you have told them not to, then I would think that such poster should be the one warned.

Frankly, I was offended by both the remark and the duplicity. If you weren't then fine...Says a lot.

                        Discontent!!?? Hah!

Plato, let's get the facts straight regarding the game in question. The team that you were on is discovered to have a DL (double login ie as in spy as in cheating) on our team We expose it to the admins, who dealt with it, and left it up to the forum to figure out how we move on. But the absolute intransigence of your team to accept the facts, and your team's collective reluctance to work towards a viable solution left not only Ming, but everyone else involved in that game sick. Get that through your heads.

(edit) So to have C Minimus accuse me of being a poor sport, when I was trying to add to the debate here, was really pushing a button.

Sorry Locutus, but I could not let this go.

Sorry, but this is a load of crap to keep trying to bring this up. I wish i could call you a jerk for it, but since I can't, I will say that this is a jerk post!

I didn't cheat! You never seemed to get that through your head. I could just as easily say you were a cheater because the site you were on had a DL discovered on it. The fact that the mods here shoved doewn everybody on my teams throat the fact that they had to accept being called cheaters doesn't make it so...any more than you are one.

Everybody has long ago agreed to put this behind them for the sake of the site, yet you keep wanting to bring it up. Things finally begin to heal when you were gone and now you seek to reopen old wounds. I am sorry...that disgusts me. Go back wherever you were and leave decent people alone.

                            • By the way, Beta. You never took advantage of the offer to look through our private forum to see if their was any evidence that anyone got any information from the unfotunate incident. That offer still stands.

As a matter of a fact, why don't we ask the owner's to open the forums from that game? Can you stand to have revealed to all the happenings of that time?

                                Open them.

                                The game is long over.
