    • I would be willing to pull myself off of team zoid to mod the game, I'd rather watch both sides o' the action anyways.

      • Do you have to mod private forums?

          • We would still need two team forums to discuss team strategies and such. And we could have two mods, one on each team forum, that way they could participate in the game and mod the open forum together.

But I´ll leave the details to Paddy and Locutus!

Errhmmm, I haven't promised anything yet, I just said I'd look into it and we'll discuss it internally. There are some notable people opposed to this as well and we have to consider all viewpoints... We'll get back to you.

That is no reason not to support this game !!!in fact that is appaling to even be held as any reason not to support this game !!!

This is a two team game those opposed to it simply dont have to play then the problem is solved, this site is supposed to be about games, not personalities !!!

This site needs to clear out the trash and start focussing on whats its real purpose is, a meeting place of enthusiastic CIV PLAYERS. !

                    • than to play just one; true, but not the only true, by playing one

game people can be motivated to play another.
Unfortunately, though, we already have two demogames right now, and (especially the team game) is already very stagnated. By adding a third, it will simply split up members across the 3 demogames too much and none of them will benefit.
Why not instead join either the Single team DG or the Multiteam DG? Both are great games that could really use the assistance of all of you who are so eager to sign up.

Tass, why should we be forced to conduct artificial respiration on games that are half dead? I for one have been very active in the spdg (two terms as president, three terms as judge and half a term as Minister of State) I left because I thought the game was won and there was no challenge left. And judging by reports from the team DG it´s going veeery slow. Not much we can do about that, even if we wanted to. Big games with lots of people tend to get bogged down quite fast unless a majority is very keen and on the ball.

The Warlords DG will be quite the opposite, a two team fast-paced mayhem!

                          • I knew I should've souped up the vile french when I made that SPDG map OH POOPYKINS

Seriously though, the SPDG is pretty much won, only thing that would spice it up would be if a president ran on a ticket to "run it to the ground" (Metaliturtle puts this in idea box for later)

The current Team demo game has a handful of issues:

                            1. You have to switch from your awesome warlords CD to your (relatively) old CIV CD.

                            2. So many teams means that it takes a week for one turn to fully be over.

                            3. Public forums are not very informative about the team game unless newbies ask, most newbies don't ask.

                            4. It isn't Warlords

What is really so wrong about two teams of dedicated players wanting their own forums to play a faster-paced game? If it isn't allowed here it will be allowed somewhere else, and losing some of the players who've signed up here will not, in the long run, be good for Apolyton.

If you want to complain that's your perogative, but don't think this "takes away" from the other games. One turn a week isn't going to impact a majority of players as far as the Team Game is concerned, the Warlords game could in fact get them more excited to play CIV at all, leading to more active discussion participation in the team game.

                            • For me it's simple. I signed up for this one because I like the idea of a Warlords game. I also like the way it is stacking up to be a small two team game which should move fairly quickly (for a DG).

If this doesn't run I won't be going off to join any other DG. Actually, if it doesn't run I will probably conclude DG's aren't worth the effort and never bother trying to join one.

                              So let's go.

Umm - I am in both games.

The SPDG is still trucking along nicely.

The Team DG - is moving along, and we can debate the pace of it 'till the cows come home, but the pace still will not change IMHO.

The ISDG is also moving along nicely as well - I'm playing in that as well.

So before you say - how can you play in three and want a fourth and give them the attention they deserve.

Simple - I am currently Pres in the SPDG - that gets a fair amount of my attention - but I play that with OTHER people who have their own strengths and we farm out the duties.

The Team DG - well, I am new in the team, so I have my say, but again the team has people in it with lots of strengths.

The ISDG - well lets just say this - that game has some very, very knowledgeable players, so again I put my two cents in, listen to others opinions and we go from there.

That leaves me plenty of time for this wee exercise in mayhem.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
