Uhh.. Chieftain. But I only just got the game so Im still learning, obviously.
Thats why Im trolling the forum
I see. Well, I might recommend playing a custom game and leaving out Isabella, Montezuma and Tokugawa, if you want an easier ride.
Cyrus will almost always be your friend though.

Ohh.. I play on "play now!" ..and my first action this game was to put Cyrus down. He interfered with my settling. And next after that was the arabs. Now Im at war with monthy. Isabella and Tok havent found me yet. But when that day come, if it comes, I will most likely be doomed :P

If you're worried about that, research more techs that lead to military upgrades, build as many of your best troops as you can, and maybe build some wonders with military bonuses (eg. Great Wall, Chichen Itza, etc.). And switch your civics.
And for next time (I don't know if you have Warlords yet), maybe try playing a civ with the Protective trait. If they play their cards right, they're near impossible to dig out.

No not Warlords yet. IF I still like it around xmas I will have some family member purchase it for me :P
I'm thinking about eradicating the egypts. Im only 2 moves away from their capital from my border since I built them in early on (but they escaped via the ocean and have now spread). So it would be a war with many fronts but with their capital easy accessed. Not sure about this one yet though. And have to finnish of monthy as well - his lands are awefully big.
I try and researc military whenever I can. I just got my Knights and working on cavalry (Im around 1500-1600 AD).
We are SERIOUSLY trolling this thread with alot of off-topic lol xD

Yeah, if we're not careful, the thread starter will get mad at us for stealing his thread.
Anyway, I'll get it back on topic. I think XP2's focus will be the Age of Discovery.
My reasons? Here's why. It combines trade (lots of new colonies and trade goods), religion (convert or die, natives!) and diplomacy (oh, conquistadors, take my city, please!).
A good mix. And easy to suppliment with new units and wonders from the 1500s/1600s (currently a deficient area in Civ4), and with the Portuguese, Iroquois, Dutch, and Mayans.
