  • the next expansion

This expansion has obviously done a lot for the warmongering side of the game. What should the next expansion be about? My vote is fleshing out the religion system.

I'd like to see more done with religion for sure. I think that all religions should have some sort of effect throughout your empire. But unstead of Firaxis making those decisions, which would be political dynamite for them, the effects would be chosen within the game by either the AI or the player. There could be 7 positive effects and 7 negative ones, all with traits/flavours attached in the backround. So each civ who founded a religion would pick aspects that corresponded to their own traits. The human player of course would get to choose what they wanted.

It should focus on trade, IMO. A less simplistic version of trading resources at the very least (perhaps attaching numerical values to the resources, which go down as you trade them more).
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
        - John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

          I agree

Now, dont get me wrong, I am a Christian, and being a hristian has many differing sides, from extremists to fundamentalists.

          Muslims the same

It would be pretty cool if you chose one side or maybe "chose" a religion and then all the sudden your own people whom once supported you now rebelled?

I think its what makes CIV so darn great, all these real life options with "learning curves" to get by

I apologize if this rant seems offensive, I just dislike the Sims' market strategies.

Civ4 is terrific, but this kind of void expansions...

Was Warlords worth it? If a future expansion is worth it, why not buy it?

Firaxis' offerings tend to be more polished and better tested. And more standard.

Due our complete civalcoholism, any expansion firaxis releases worth it. That`s the problem

mmmm, I doubt about that. At least with the most succesfull mods

The expansions from Firaxis tend offer some new game mechanics and some extra scenarios. The main reason for me to buy the expansion (beside being a civalcoholic), is the mechanics. Mods using these new features, are then often even more fun to play. I agree that some mods are so well done and creative made that they deserve being a part of an expansion pack.

In addition to a new trade system where resources have values and can be "used" (e.g. you need 1 oil pr. 20 oil-based unit etc), I would like an option to abbandon cities. Also, commiting genocide should somehow be punished, especially when burning down medium and large cities. The world (maybe not always the politicans, but the people) does react when war cruelties and mass murder of civilians are commited...

Well at least in modern times. Maybe after Liberalism, genocide can have a great negative impact.
