For the “flat maps" I would prefer the maps were surrounded entirely by mountains than disappearing over the “edge” of the world.

What i really hate is the bug that allows enemy navy to navigate sea tiles that are within my cultural borders(WO open borders) and often sneak attack me in this way...I do not have the latest patch installed so i don't know if this has been fixed but it definately should be...
        no more turns...

A caravel can enter the borders of a rival civ - when there is no open borders agreement - without triggering a war.

Nonsense. Yours was about city improvements and units. Mine was about Great Wonders. If we are going to nitpick, let's do it right!!

I tend not to bother with small and unimportant issues, so I don't think I have any particular nitpick to come with atm.

While you cannot just press F4 (I haven't actually tried F4 in v1.61) while in dialogue with them, there are small buttons in the upper-right corner which allows you to open the diplomacy screens. Use the button with the little scroll on it.
If you press F4 you get the diplomacy thing for yourself, and then if you click on a picture, it shows how other civilizations think of that one.

There used to be a thread in the Civ2 forums called "Stupid AI tricks". The Civ4 AI is a lot better than the Civ2 one, but it still seems to do stuff that's exploitable (on Noble, anyway).

                      - not evacuating workers and ships (but especially workers) from a beseiged city. It's eminently do-able, in a lot of cases, but I still find myself capturing Workers in groups of twos, threes and fours when I take a city. It's to the point where I hardly ever build workers after meeting someone I don't like.

                      - It seems that extorting tributes is automatic once per peace treaty. I've been able to exploit this (declare war, make peace, demand tribute on the 11th turn, declare war, repeat).

And my major nitpick - not being able to run Civ4 and have other windows open (containing my notes, and possibly this site).

"Never play cards with any man named 'Doc'. Never eat at any place called 'Mom's'. And never, ever...sleep with anyone whose troubles are worse than your own." - Nelson Algren
"A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic." - Joseph Stalin (attr.)

The time function is something I forgot to mention. They should have the time to the left of the year display and PERMANENTLY visible. Thanks to Murphy's Law, whenever I need to know the time the year is displayed, and whenever I need to know the year, the time is displayed. Waiting for the display to change seems to take an eternity.

Fixed in 1.61. Display the time and the time is displayed to the left of the year.

Oh, ok. Pity 1.61 has so many disadvantages, reduced chopping effectiveness in particular. I suppose I'll eventually have to switch when Warlords arrives.
