Railroad Graphics that do not follow the railroad ROUTE!
Road routes are so easy to follow. Why couldn't they have done a competent job with the rails?

Sorry, didn't mean to yell. Duh, YES I DID!

EDIT: Doh! Of course, both roads and rails are just fine, AS LONG AS there are no rivers/bridges to contend with. THEN they are a mess.

Getting hammered but not having the ability to resolve all attacks and reports of bombings instantly.

Better score system both in mechanics and presentation. When you have a game turn over of a couple of days, the experience would be enhanced if the scoring was more fun and satisfying. For example, when I finish a stage of a shmup arcade game, I get a nice screen which counts my score and the bonuses I achieved with pretty bells and whistles. Okay, Civ is not an arcade game, but something better could be done.

That's all I can think of.

Being unable to shoot down defending aircraft.
Helicopters can't cross water. (? can they fly over mountains ? I've never tried this.)
My opponents' colours are usually similar (shades of yellow to brown) and merge beautifully into the terrain.
Being unable to plant trees or irrigate deserts.
Every sixth Great Person in the XML listings is always skipped.
The game will not run on my computer if I try any map size larger than Standard.

Lots of nits to pick, but what an absorbing game !

Not being able to easily figure out who is a particular AI's worst enemy and therefore not to trade with (Even CtP made it easier to find out how the AI's regarded each other - how many years ago was that game released).
Never give an AI an even break.

Stupid AI tricks: A city has four archers. I have 4 quechas sitting right nex to it on a forrested hill (or any square for that matter!) Wait a turn and two of the archers have moved out of the city! Now it's advantage Inca. I don't mind taking advantage of that but that is rather dumb on their part.

Not being able to see who you're trading what with or how other AI's feel about someone when they're asking you to join a war in a game with ten AI's is REALLY friggin' annoying.

                      You are mistaken.
While you cannot just press F4 (I haven't actually tried F4 in v1.61) while in dialogue with them, there are small buttons in the upper-right corner which allows you to open the diplomacy screens. Use the button with the little scroll on it.

I've tried that, and it hasn't worked for me in the past. I'll try in this version though (1.6) and see how it goes.

                          Maybe I'm mistaken but....

Not being able to demand something when the AI asks me to go to war for them. The AI doesn't seem to have a problem asking me for 3 techs to declare war on my enemy.

Aha! License to nitpick! I cannot resist.

"Delhi has just built 'A' Pyramids." We're teaching folk a little history, why not a little grammar as well? At least set a decent example. The grammatical rules for "A", "AN" and "THE" are not that hard to program!. {Thank goodness I haven't noticed any spelling errors. That would really jangle on my nerves!)

Bombardment sounds are so much louder than the others. I play late at night when every one else is asleep. I can't use headphones. (long story) I want a little sound so I keep the volume where the sounds won't wake everyone up, then "BOOM" goes my squadron of bombers. Where's is the dynamic balance control? How can I turn down just one sound?

When I go to save a game file, it puts the cursor in the folder name. I don't want a new folder each time. I want a new file, maybe one that says AboutToAttackJapanAgain or something. Didn't anybody in the beta test complain about this? If not, why not? Did they make a new folder every time they saved a game? Same thing happens for loading a game. It frustrates me since it seems it would be an easy change.

I sustitute my name for the leader name. This is fine except for one little thing. That weird cultural win there on the scoreboard, did I do that as Ghandi or as Asoka. I can't remember and the game will not tell me.

One other nitpick: losing. How dare it let me lose like that?!?!
                            If you aren't confused,
                            You don't understand.
