    Voted for a few:

    Byzantines, Carthage, Polynesia, Vikings.

    These civs had major impacts on their particuar regions in their time AND would have potential for realistic and useful unique units. In order;

Kataphraktoi (heavy knight-like cavalry with iron and horseback riding.)

Uber War Elephants Seeing as Ivory isn't all that common though, perhaps Sacred Band Spearmen. (Phalanx with 25% vs Melee bonus?)

Ocean-going galley replacements. (Perhaps a tadge overpowered?)

Viking Warrior (Swordsman, perhaps even Maceman replacement dependent on strength.)

Traits would be equally intuitive but seeing as I should be working I'll leave that for now.

REALLY hope the Byz would get a look-in in an expansion. Also hoping that Alexander gets the Macedonian civ with a better Phalanx (like the Sacred Band mooted above) and the Greeks get some sort of Spartan UU.

I'm not Hellenic myself, for the record, I just like the history.

      Not Polynesia, please.

Macedonia is not likely, but they should get Companion Cavalry and then the Greeks could have a Phalanx.
Carthages' UU could be War Elephants WITHOUT ivory.

War Elephants without Ivory would be a balance nightmare, War Elephants are very, very strong... a civ that doesn't have to try and expand towards Ivory, a civ that can always build Elephants? Eek!

Make War Elephants vulnerable to Longbows.

Just make the Carthagian super Elephants (that really should require Ivory - I mean, no source of Elephants would be a problem for those Elephant trainers) a bit more costly. If they were powerful units, then good! Why should UU's be little better than vanilla equivalents?

Yep, those Indian Elephants would have made the Romans laugh themsevles to death Or tickled the praetorians to bits with Bamboo wielded in their trunks

On a serious note Shiva, what would a good Indian combat UU be?

Fast Workers, duh! Because Indian people are so efficient and our public works projects always finish ahead of schedule and under budget.

I'd like to see a differentiation between Tsarist Russia and the USSR.

Seriously, if Joseph Stalin is under "Russia", I will cry. It should be:

                      Stalin, Lenin - USSR
                      Peter, Catherine - Russia

But then again, Fredrick is listed under "Germany" and Victoria under "England"... o_O so it wouldn't suprise me.

You know, USSR were made up of tzarist Russia divided into modern Russia and other states ruled of one party. No need for an own civ for that.

USSR never was a civilization. It was a country, a different one from Russia, but still...

I really hope the Sumerians make it in, considering how close they came in Vanilla Civ IV.

It's a possibility, though I think Babylon has a better chance given its popular acclaim.

I voted for the Assyrians, Babylonians, Celts, Hittites, the Scottish, Sumerians, and the Vikings. My only criteria was that I like 'em. I'm really glad the Vikings made it in. Personally, I'd like to see the whole list make it. 'The more the merrier' and all that.
