Didn't see it listed in the 1.61 thread.

The Golden Age caused by the Taj Mahal no longer increases the amount of great people needed for the next golden age. With previous versions I seem to recall that if you never used GP to cause a golden age and built the Taj Mahal that it would cost you 3 GP instead of 2 and so forth.

That's been true since at least the prior patch.

Is it a documented feature that I can no longer see the beaker/hammer/coins that signify my best science, commerce and building cities? Or has an option that I can't find been turned off on the display options?

And why doesn't it tell me turns a city is going to take to build/grow on the main map anymore?

I miss them. I wish I could have the other changes and have them back.

That's no feature. I still have the icons intact. But I guess it has to do with your other question: The info on growth etc is turned on by an option. I think it's named "detailed city info".

You probably need to re-set an option, I'm not sure exactly which one, detailed city info or something.
                edit: i twas too slow.

You don't have Detailed City Info selected in your graphics options.

                    AWESOME!

Thanks guys. Now, why did the patch turn that off? I mean, it did lose all my previous graphical settings which was annoying but I guess that was a default before because I don't remember selecting it.

                    Aw, I don't really care.

Patches tend to work that way.

No they don't. Well not for other games. Can't comment on Civ 4 because when I started playing the first two patches were already out so I upgraded before I changed any settings.

On the plus side it does now remember all the settings on the custom game screen.

It does work that way for Paradox games too at least.

That feature was disabled by default from the beginning. I remember turning it on to see what it was and then wondering why it wasn't enabled by default.

                              Was it?

I didn't know what it did so I think I must have turned it on thinking it was something to do with the graphics of the cities then, I turned everything up to the highest detail I could.

"Detailed city info" shows those numbers under cities, and yes, it's off by default. Although it's beyond me how anyone can play with it off.
