Don't fordet Tsaichovsky's 1812 Overture. A great peice to play as your opponent faces his inevitable defeat is Wagner's Die Gotterdamerung.

Irrespective of going to war or not, I've found out that only classical music fits well to the continuous pausing of the music which happens when you zoom into a city.

I specifically enjoy listening to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. The fun is that there is a point where there is a bang of the piatini somewhere in that score, aimed to sound like a gunshot. I always laugh when that coincides with one of my cavalry creaming an enemy longbowman.

By the way, is there a way to keep the music playing when you are zooming into a city?

Apart from that, the city sounds need alot of improvement and much more variety. They are one step away from plain irritating, as they are right now.

Iron Maiden is good when I'm on warpath.. as is Diablo, Nightwish and of course Rammstein.

I kinda like playing cheery pop music (Roxette, say) when crushing ancient civilizations under the tracks of my armoured legions.

The music for that game was brilliant - i think i ripped it to mp3.

Anyway, I usually listen to drum and base, i feel its suitably warlike but also hypnotic. LTJ Bukem is my artist of choice...
