The Celts or Scots, wearing kilts.
Perhaps the Woad Raider as the UU and Robert de Bruce as their leader. William Wallace could be a great person (military hero). The military hero gets used to produce a TBD number of units, of unique units, or fight as himself, with heroic strength.
Scotland has had many great scientists, inventors, writers, poets, so there shoud be no shortage of great people.www.neo-geo.com

Clearly we need a SE Asian civ. The Khmers would be my first choice, but Vietnamese or Thais would be nice too.Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

It would be a huge mess getting rights holders to agree to them but a bunch of fictional civs:
All of the Lord of the Rings ones
The civs from the Belgariad/Malorean books
Star Trek
Battlestar Galactica
Stargate
You get the point. Maybe when you select one of these it modifies the religions to match the fictional universe that they belong to.
Not to threadjack but I would also like to see each civ (including the normal ones) have more than one unique unit. Perhaps one in another era other than the one it gets. That way civs like America could get something like The Minute Man (instead of musket) as well as the Navy Seal. Picking the out would be kind of interesting since most of the civs had their period in history then it was over or they started late in the world and are still going.

Danes because they used to control all of Scandinavia (the Kalmar Union) - their leader would of course be Margaret I.
Swedes since they were once a fairly major player in Europe. They'd be led by Gustavus Adolphus, right?
Norwegians, Finns and Icelanders would be out, I guess, since we were under someone else's control most of the time.www.neo-geo.com

Outside of the British islands, they didn't have more influence than any other barbarian raiders. Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

In any case, even allowing that the Norse raiders were not as critical as I believe there is no harm in having that dark age European barbarism a place in the pantheon.www.neo-geo.com

2) I'm sure everyone would like that (double UUs), but sadly it would take an enormous amount of extra time and effort to implement. They may do it, however, in which case there will be much rejoicing.Last edited by Axxaer; January 27, 2006, 19:11."You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess."

Well, they did really. They raided and settled Northern France, they raided deep into Russia, they they were recruited as bodyguards by the Byaznatine Emperors, they took and held slices of the Italian Peninsula. They were the terror that kept the dark ages dark. That's not to say that the Avars and Bulgars and what have you in Central Europe didn't do a bang up job too but while Euopean coasts were pillaged and the people took a step backwards the Arab states marched relentlessly forward.
The Arab advance was over before the Scandinavians became a concern. The Normans were quickly frenchified - they guys who conquered Sicily and bits of Italy spoke Old French. The Varangians were just another set of barbarian mercenaries. Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Babylonians and Zulus should be a must. I was watching a doco called Guns, Germs and Steel, which suggested that the Bantu were a fairly sophisticated quasi civilization in Africa.Voluntary Human Extinction Movement http://www.vhemt.org/

The Norse were far more influential than various Goths.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
