It's almost impossible to get a rank 5 naval unit though.

Well just lower the rank for naval units, to 3 or 4. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as West Point, just equivalent.

Frankly I think naval units are being a bit shortchanged in the game. Barracks are available right from the start, but ships don't get anything that gives them points until Drydock, which is quite late in the game. I'd like to see the Drydock abilities split with it only speeding construction times. Then have a Shipyard building that gives XP to ships starting from when Galleys are available.

I'd like to see a religious victory condition myself. Something like you have to found 4 religions and have one or two of them established in 60% of all cities in the world.

I'd also like to see religions have some effects like civics. Have a list of 10 abilities and each time a religion is founded, one gets chosen and is unavailable to future religions. And have a penalty for each bonus gained.

I like the religion part of the game, and would hope it would have an even greater effect in the future

              • Blitz is available to Armour, Mounted and Helicopter units.

                Blitz Keshiks

Isn't Combat III a prerequisite for Blitz?

                  • Yup - hence the problem with the original Terracotta Army proposal. Free promo - Combat I. 10xp would then allow you Combat II, Combat III and Blitz.

It's saner (although still overpowered) if restricted to Melee and Gunpowder units.

Well it's not that far away from the Pentagon, which gives 2 free xp to each military units. You can get Combat I for 2xp.

                      • But how about giving something that you can't get from promotion:
A home defense promotion that gives 15% extra for defense when inside friendly borders, this 'promotion' applies to all melee and gunpowder units (both new and old), but you lose the promotion as soon as you lose the wonder

It better apply to archery units as well

Yes - but it's a free promotion; one that doesn't use xp. That's a lot more valuable than an xp-using promotion.

                                Okay, my interpretation is different.

To me, a free promotion for military units is something they get without getting into battles. So, Theocracy, Vassalage, the Pentagon, barracks, etc. all give out free experience points, and these translate into free promotions.
