I already explained my reasoning. And sometimes I feel like being a jerk, and what better victim than someone I'm actually helping who doesn't really deserve to be helped due to past behavior? (note: there are some Strategist83 pseudonym theories that are probably correct, but there's a small chance they aren't and people are being unnecessarily harsh on him).

Here's the thing, this guy is known for not responding to any criticism at all well. And sometimes when critiquing someone’s play it's necessary to say things like "You've done this wrong".

I'm almost certain that even if I was entirely polite (or as polite as I am able to be, since I don't sugar coat anything if it'll reduce clarity) he would have blown up at something else, like perhaps my Courthouses comment (giggles again about not building courthouses as an Organized leader, I mean, bwahahahah).

The only thing I should have done is say "you act like a moron". I apologize for not separating the behavior from the individual; especially in this case since the individual was finally showing some signs of wanting to actually learn rather than continue to act like a know-nothing know-it-all, truly commendable.

In closing, I’d like to say one thing. On the internet, and elsewhere, taking offense is ALWAYS optional. Even when someone insults you to your face you can assume they're just being a jerk and actually don't hate you.

Okay, I'll rate your play.

• Well, you opened pretty weakly, posting a save that shows incompetence rather than greatness, and you neglected to include signs praising yourself (such as renaming every city to "STRAT ROXZ!" and every unit to "lol minion").
• However, after Hengist attacked you repulsed his attack well using the Evil Clown strategy, a strategy known to be very strong

• You were doing well, with Blake and Silver falling under your Trolltural influence, but you countered being called a moron with calling someone an idiot when it is clear that they were not. A better riposte would have been '***'.
• But it got results! HateMale acknowledged your ability to be an ass, Blake was openly offended, and LordShiva was baited. Great Play!
• You then deleted your original post, a smart move to throw potential enemies off the trail.
• But, then you fell under a barrage of counter-trolls from Etchy, Axxaer, Silver14 and Forwarn45, from which you didn't recover. You lost points for this.
• You regained some ground by pretending to be an emotional ******, by suggesting that anyone being uncourteous towards you causes you to develop a case of e-Tourettes. You also played the NEWBIE card as bait, an excellent play.
• When HateMale took the bait, you acted condescending in classical troll style. You earned points for this.
• Mergle countered with Android style, which is strong against Trollers - and you were wise to retreat at this point.
• yin26 quoted a source and asking us to get along, thus ending the engagement.

All in all, you had some good trolling in there, but it was mixed with your inability to divert or control counter-trolls. Your thread only reaching 1 page before it closed lost you points.

Overall, I give you a trolling score of 4 out of 10 bottlenose dolphins.

I was wondering when EN would respond in this thread, I see you were saving a special response .

Note: Just for reference I actually rubbed my hands together gleefully when he went for my bait hook, line and sinker. I'd have almost been disappointed if he had responded to my post like a civilized human being. I was bemused when others came to my "defense", clearly not knowing Strategist83, originally there was a slight possibility he was turning over a new leaf and in my infinite compassion I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (along with a test), this possibility was quickly dispelled when he failed the test with flying colors.

I enjoy the intellectual exercise of justifying my behaivor so proceeded to do so, along with a healthy degree of insulting Strategist, I suspect he realised my game when I invited him to not take offense. However I was also leaving open the possibility of engaging in civilized dialog, in my infinite compassion or naivety, one can not be compassionate without being percieved as naive.

I found it interesting when someone made the observation that my motivation may not have have been entirely altruistic. Which is true, I always act in an entirely selfish way, I do what amuses and satisfies myself, that I enjoy acting in a benevolent way is entirely coincidental.

edit: I rate this thread 8/10 bottlenose dolphins, minus their flippers.
