It would help if the barbs harassed the computer players as well. >=(

Yeah they can be really annoying at times. But they definitely make the game more interesting. I couldn't imagine what Raging must be like, I get quite enough of them sometimes on default. Archers are really helpful with them. Just stick them in some hills around your border, preferable with forests. Though that doesn't work that well when the barbs start using swordsman.

I've seen them go after the AI. In one game, Alexander had a city right in the middle of his territory and after that his expansion ground to a halt. I was able to dominate the continent thanks to one barb city. That'll teach him to plan his empire better.

Oh but they do harass the computer players. The Barbs took Delhi over before I even started killing the Indians in one game. And this was with raging barbs off.

Not only did they take their capital, but the Buddhists holy city to boot.

Although in that game the Indians started alone on a small landmass. So the barbs there only had one thing to focus on.

He's just said that a bunch of times before and in all cases evidence to the contrary has been posted.

Well, we could use more evidence to the contrary.
                    BTW: Lol @ Delhi.

I'm playing one highlands map where I've watched the barbarians walk right past my archers, through my territory and into Alexanders... seems they hated him more than me... (he was getting hit from multiple directions)

Yeah, in my experience the complaint that barbs don't antagonize the AI civs as much as the 1st person player isn't justified. I have continually seen the barbarian civilization go after another AI civ when it could have gone after me.

Most of the time I think this is based on one's military strength: if I have a weak city it will be attacked by the barbarians, but if I am strong in all my cities (even relatively strong) the barbarian troops go straight for the AI civs which are weaker.
One of these days I'll make 501 posts, and you won't have to look at my silly little diplomat anymore.

If you figure he is trolling every time he is wrong then...

                          Well never mind.

Raging barbs on a huge map... I had to drop down a level from Prince to Noble when I played the large map. Damn this game is demanding
