Ok, I put all three files (minus the readme) in the Civ folder. Is that all there is?

That might be enough for you, bud. Fire up the game now and see what happens.

No matter which disc I put in it says it's the wrong one. Never had this problem before. I think I'm going to go pull my hair out now.

Ok. Restarted my PC and I've got the game loaded. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I don't understand if you mean it or trying to pin me... (no offence if I am wrong), so I'll tell what it really is:

It started it as A, but then when it turned from fun into hard-work, I finished it because of expecting B and C, and I want to thank everyone who gives that to me
I was trying to pin you into giving back some of that immense pile of w00t you seem to have accumulated.
So ... would you like to thank the Academy?
              (The Apolyton Academy, that is.

And what's with all the DPs in this thread?

One move. *click* Screen went black. Frozen. Ugh.

I appreciate the effort that went into creating the patch and the help that was given, but I think I'm just going to have to hang this one up. Damnit.

Again, a big w00T to the communtiy. A big Bronx cheer to Firaxis on this one.

                    Harkonnen for president!

After playing the game for the last 24 hours with your memory fix, I have to say that Fraxis should be paying you. You turned an unplayable slow dog into what it should have been to start with.

                    Thanks again.

By the way, if anyone had trouble like me in finding civilization4.ini, you can use the shortcut 'Civ4config.'

I might try this out later. But from what I'm reading it appears to work for everyone. You know I can't believe that a Civ fan, whom appears to be very talanted with a computer, puts out a patch to fix major flaws in the game that an offical patch from the people who made the bloody game wasn't able to.
You know Harkonnen604 you should work for Firaxis and show them how to properly make a game.

Just to throw in a grain of salt... I have been having trouble with this patch. I'm not sure if it is simply a question of my video memory settings being wrong, but (for me) it seems to help in some areas while creating problems in others.

I am very glad that some who have only been able to play on small maps are now able to play on large ones, and for that Harkonnen is definitely to be commended. In my case, I was simply was looking for something to smoothe out my experience with huge maps and scenarios, which I have yet to accomplish. I will do some more tweaking of the "Harkonnen.ini" settings during the coming day.

Sure, get it! I am kind of man who is driven primarily by what you refer as w00t (if your meaning of this word matches that one of wikipedia.org).

Sure, thanks all of you for giving me feed back, kind words and praising. It makes me happy and drives towards new improvements with that patch, globe view slowness fix for example...

Though my credit primarily goes to CFC community. Not because Apolyton community is not as good, it is! Just this story started there... You may read it if you want:
I had a little trouble understanding this concept and any posible solutions. When running the game I have had a couple CTD on larger maps (the Earth map) with my computer saying afterwards there was a virtual memory problem. Is this something I can fix? I have 512 RAM, will getting more solve...

Ok, so what's that grain is? What are the actual problems with the fix? I don't mean there shouldn't be any, just specifying them here will make it possible for me to offer a solution

An update will be released soon which will suggest settings and install everything itself, so you might want to wait a little (I am going to finish it through this weekend).

I sometimes wish they could make .EXE files beat people around a bit with a large trout and/or give them electric shocks.
Just for the fun of making a file titled "xXx LEET PORN WAREZ MUSIC xXx.exe" and zapping people who are silly enough to download it.
