I think that what he meant was you had to do it in 2 turns to use the artillery for bombard and collateral. That siege weapons are often slower moving than your other units can make this a little frustrating when you want to plough through your opponent's cities.Originally posted by Stageon
Also, not sure I agree with the one about accepting not being able to take a city in 1 turn. It seems to me with the way they've made bombardment+collateral dmg+healing work in this game, you pretty much have to try to do it that way.

... ask your "friends" what they think of other leaders, that way you know who they'll be willing to dogpile! Keeping your "friends" in war WITH you, keeps them out of war AGAINST you.

... just because there are no obnoxious pillaging noises, doesn't mean there are no AI units sneaking up to a city! Watch for the flashes on the minimap!

Good point Nelis, you should know the odds before you decide to attack. It's also important to know how to shift those odds in your favour by using the right unit for the right job and using artillery to lower the defensive value.
Of course that looks good on paper but in reality I seem to frequently get stuck on the
