I always play as the English and enjoy discovering a huge map. I hate Isabella with her stupid pouty mouth, and will search her out and destroy all her cities as a matter of course. I hate the French second. If i am near the Russians there tends to be problems with them settling on MY land and i have to go to war with them also. I achieved my last victory by taking over the whole world, hahahahahaha........

Aztecs suck the most... definitely! They always declare war regardless of how strong they actually are. Catherine is also a handful! I've had only one game where she was my ally, every other time she's extremely aggressive. Napoleon sucks too!

I have to agree, Monty always declares war and Izzy always is bitter. And they are always a threat unless you beat them down.

Toka is a bastard but he never seems to be powerful enough to be more than an anoyance.

My last game had Izzy, the greeks and tokagawa on my continent, and supprisingly enough both the spanish and greeks helped me keep the japanese in check even though we were all christian. (i had founded all religions in that game so i controlled it all. And the poor second continent civs lived without religeon until i shipped over a couple catholic priests.) Since we shared the same religion Izzy actually was very freindly and helpful the entire game, even donated techs to my cause out of niceness. thats her thing, she puts a premium on religion... I still havent figured out japan. you just cant please him...

Now Monty is just hard wired to jag rush you no matter what you do, i played with it one game using save games to try different tactics to placate him, nothing worked, when he has enough units, he attacks. plain and simple. If you see green when you begin your game, start that military early, u will need it.

I have managed to befriend Tokugawa, in an islands game I started next to him, and my religion managed to infect him. Once i got up to +3 from the religion bonus I was able to open borders. He was still a tad chilly and wouldn't really share tech, but he proved a tolerable neighbour. At least he wont join up with anyone else against you...

The aztecs civilization or should I say the insane civilization. They love to backstab their best friends and in the rare event your are no backstabed are they bussy backstabing everyone else. Often requiring you too side against them or get worse relations.

The mongols seems to be strange enough often good and loyal friends of me. Because I don't want an early war do I often givethem what they ask and that seems to make them friendly, converting them to my religion is often a priority. Because they are a very good ally once they are friends: loyal, military strong but not very science or space race focused. Lowering the risk that they shall steal your victory.

If you go to war with the mongols do you often need to build a lot of units to fight their heavily defended cities, so you can better seek war with a less defended civilization or with the Aztecs(they shall attack you anyway).

Bismarck got my state religion and became my ally. Tokugawa got a nice beating.

Of course in the meantime the bastard Saladin won the spacerace. I could not possibly catch up scientifically after my war with Tokugawa. I was almost there, but Saladin fooled me. He was always happily dealing with me, and at some point in 1950 he started to build the spaceship! The two faced bastard is good! I made a note to myself to keep an eye on him.

Whom I hate most? Definitely Mansa Musa, for the simple reason that he seem to be there in every single game I play, and I swear I never played with the same civ twice!
yeah, agree on Mansu Musa, been in every game for me so far, and Isabella ofcourse... had to wipe her of the map the last two games...

It really suprises me that more people haven't said the Greeks, my personal favorite for most hated Civ. I've had them next to me in about 5 of 7 games, and every single game they start wars with me for no good reason, even with good relations. I've lost 2 games because I had to stop focusing on spaceship parts and gear up to eliminate those jerks just because they annoyed me so much.

Next in line: the Russians, the Aztecs and the Spanish

I actually like the Japanese, because Toku is so predictable. He will not act like a friend and then backstab or win a space race.
