  • Which Civ do u hate the most..?

I am playing as a peaceful Egptian on a standard map with 7 civs Prince

Its the end of the middle ages and Montezuma is a bastard....

He is well in front having wiped out the English and i am sparring with the Greeks for last place though all of us are travelling in the wake of Monty.

He is annoyed with me we have different religions and he says our borders cause tension but he has the Chinese in the way b4 he reaches me. I have given tribute to the bully and then wallop he dclares war and in a bout 2 turns he turns up with war elephants and horse archers and he has captured 2 of my smaller cities raising one to the ground

I sue for peace and give him my second city to save myself.

He agrees and our peace lasts for 15 turns with me giving tribute and kissing his ugly Bottom as i try to stay in the game.

I think he realises that my culture is about to turn his new captured cities and so he declares war using open borders with the yanks he comes from the opposite side this time with Musket men, elephants, macemen, horses in 3 big stacks.

I stopped playing 4 the night but anticipate it will be a short war and that my capital which is a lovely city will be lost..

I hate Monty....i know if i had palyed my Diplomacy a bit better i might have survived but well the AI is solid and i need to think again b4 i play...

I want his head on a stick though and plan to plop him in my next game for revenge

The same old Montezuma eheheh so far I've played 3 epic-huge-continent-15civs games and he declared war to me each time. Doesnt' matter if he is in another continent or the same, if our borders are close enough or not...

    P.S.
    and everytime he lost ghghghgh

I hate the French. Or more specifically, Louis XIV; I haven't met Napoleon yet.

Louie acts like a Civ 3 leader.

Isabella is also a *****. In my recent game as Peter on Prince I was stuck between Monty on one side and her on the other, with her founding Judaism and Monty Hinduism. I was foolhardy (or foolish enough) to found Christianity myself, and the hell broke loose. Both of them started to hate me with an intensity of a star. First, Monty attacked from the East. I was preparing for war for several years already, so I managed to repell him and capture one of his border cities... when Isabella stabbed me from the other side.

I quickly peaced with Monty and moved my troops to face Isabella. Eventually I managed to raze one of her cities and repell her invasion force, however at the cost of her destroying most of my infrastructure around 3 largest cities, Moscow included. I signed the peace, thinking that the war is over for now... however precisely after 10 turns her massive army of macemen, conquistadors and catapults invaded my borders from 3 sides. I was wiped out in an instant.

Mansa seems to be the most capable opponent in most of my games. He is almost always in the lead and has often beaten me to the space race victory (on prince). He also seems pretty good at getting the AI civs to like him.

He's not the most warlike, but he seems unusually good at many other aspects of the game.

The answer to that is any civ that starts out being nice but for no reason turns on me.

This happened with George Washington last night. He was on my border to the south. We were fairly friendly. Even shared the same religion. Out of the blue, he declares war. He wasn't able to take out any cities but he did manage to pillage all over the place. Effectively setting the stage for the chinese to do the same thing near the end. I couldn't keep up on upgrading my military because of that so had no chance when the more modern armies of the chinese came calling.

At least the chinese didn't pretend to like me before declaring war.

However, that isn't typical of Washington. In fact, that's the first time that has ever happened. Isabella usually doesn't like me from the start but I couldn't care less.

Montezuma has ruined quite a few of my games.
One time I in fact tried very hard spreading my religion and succsessfully converted him. Then I strated to supply him with silver whitout any cost. (just to improve relations) Our relationship was at +8 and we fought a shared war against Russia. But no! ... that son o a ***** just declared me war one of a sudden.
There just seem to be NO WAY to stop this guy from attacking.

Alexander is another one always wanting to fight.
The most horrible starting position is to be stuck between theese two - Alexander and Montezuma.

I also always seem to have poor relations with Isabella - however not many wars this far. But we are never able to trade stuff because she never ever likes me enough. This is most probably religion related. Isabella almost always find an early religion - and I always want a religion of my own.
              GOWIEHOWIE! Uh...does that
              even mean anything?

I wonder why they made Monty such an agressive leader..
Historical he was one big piece of cowardice, while his borther Cuautemoc was ferocious guerilla..

Isabella, as far as I can tell, has trouble having good relations with anyone. Most of the AIs hate her in the games I play (and she seems to almost start off annoyed with everyone).

i have noticed in my games that the English get killed off first everytime being a true Englishman i think i will have to try to rectify that.

On my Monty game i have managed for the second time to broker peace by buying him off with another city ...i had a great Artist pop up though and he bagan a great poem or someting and my culture is close to sucking back that city.

My 10 turns are nearly up though and so i expect a third visit from Monty he's probably marching his infantrymen through the yanks now so that when he's ready that trumpet will sound and he will be knocking at the capital again.

I was tempted to cave in but am enjoying just trying to survive in the hope that if he is not too far away when the nukes come along i will let him have a terrible retribution...

Having said that i think he will finish me off the third time...

That's what Louis XIV does. Like, all the time. Louie's one mad frog bastard. At least Monty is consistent -- he always hates my guts just about from the moment we meet. I have no problem with him declaring war, because I can see it coming. Furthermore, he's usually pretty sensible about talking things over and going all peaceful again when I stop his invading armies. Louie just throws the gauntlet from out of the blue, and then refuses to talk to you for the next 20 turns even if he doesn't get any real invasion attempts off. And that's just because he's a mad frog bastard (did I mention that I hate him?).

You ask me, it's Isabella. I hate her A LOT.

I was Egypt and we were just growing along minding our own business and she starts demanding stuff. Well, I wasn't sharp enough to realise that she's gonna freak out one of these days so I said "No, go away". Well, she only put up with that three or four times before declaring war OUT OF THE BLUE!

She up and attacks me for no reason and so I have to hold her off. She was about as prepared as I so nothing really happened but I had to divert everything to that stupid war.

Finally we have peace and I can get back to building all the buildings I missed out on, I fgure I'll build units later. Well, after about twenty turns she comes back demanding stuff, only now she's a different religion so she's even more mad at me. This time I think about it and give her the gold she wants. Then five turns later she demands some spice and I say "No way, you must be joking!" sure enough, two turns later she just up and declares war OUT OF THE BLUE! No warning! No chance to get out of it.

Only now she has those stupid conquistadores and she won't let up. I eventually quit 'cause she just keeps declaring war for NO REASON.

                            I hate her.

I am not a big fan of the French.

I always play as the Germans, and everytime the French declare war on me. Whether I am Bismarck or Fredrick, early game or late game, the French have to invade. I almost always try to go for a culture victory, so I do not have any "black marks" on my rep.

I am thinking a hidden code is put in the game for the French to hate the Germans....

I will try playing as another civ tonight to see if the French are the same way.
