    Isabella, why you crazy *****?

Every game she has to attack me, even marching units across half the map. She's yet to cause any actual damage.

I give her gifts of silver and gems and stuff but she still attacks me. Maybe she just likes a good beating.

The Civ I try to antagonise jsut to get a chance to smack them would be the Americans.
I like to convert America to Islam .

Well for the 5th and final time old monty declared war out of nowhere this time he had artillery marines SAM and cavalry.

He must have been hording troups in the little city he took off me in the last peace negotiations the little ****.

And i was making a great recovery had begum to catch up with the tech race was friends with the others though Gandhi had started to be a little funny with me.

I was begining to hope my beating away of Monty had worked and that i might yet at least take one of his cities or get that nuke but no...this time his army was tooo much he pillaged his way to Thebes ignored my other cities and then annihilated me ....and guess what to rub salt in it after years of culture ,peace some of the finest paintings and artists, all the theatres and collisiums etc a big cheesy smiley yellow face popped up.... was it monty laughing at me ... no my city were celebrating ! we love the monty day !!

No pleasing some...with my personal slaves and eunoks i escaped and built myself a pyramid

The game ended and i was classed as Dan Quayle...complete and utter humiliation...

      But boy what a game...

My most hated is Tokugawa(Japan) Evertime he's next to me I get the "+1 Years of Peace strengthen our relations" relations but when I talk to him, open borders is all red so that just naturally leads to him declaring war on me eventually. Nowadays I just pick Tokugawa, hehe.

Yeah Monty declares war on me a lot. The secret is to knock him out quick by building a army somewhat fast. His UU is the jaguar whichis a freaking joke, 5 attack, rofl at that. Either kill him with a combined mass of horse archers/swordsmen/axeman, or wait for catapults/eles.

Tokugawa is very hard to get Open Borders with, since he favours Mercantilism (which shuts down all foreign trade routes) and is generally a very isolationist AI.

I'll go with the consensus here regarding Montezuma. The only game I ever played when I never went to war with him was one time I was playing as Roosevelt and he was on another continent (though he quickly overran Lizzie and Izzy on his continent).

I also despise Tokugawa, as he is almost always belligerent, an isolationist and favours Mercantilism. I'll usually try to join any alliances that are against him. He's usually quite useless as a trading partner.

Isabella always snatches an early religion that nobody else will end up having, and then hates my heathen guts. Tensions cool later on when I'm running the Free Religion civic, as I can't be accused of being a heathen when I have no state religion, but Izzy still remains quite belligerent.

Mansa Musa... he pretends to be such a nice guy, but its hard to get him to part with all those beautiful technologies he has, even when you have something to offer him in a fair trade. I'm also getting a bit sick of seeing him around, since I've only played ONE game where he was not my IMMEDIATE NEIGHBOUR.

I've only ever had to go to war with the Americans once, against Washington, and I was the aggressor (playing as Frederick strangely enough). Unfortunately, they expanded too fast and didn't give me enough breathing room, so I had to smack them down. Shame too, seeing as how we got along before that, and Washington could have been a member of my coalition against Isabella, Montezuma and Genghis Khan who shared our continent with us (Lizzie survived to be my partner in that coalition). To my credit, though, I did spare him and it didn't take long to repair relations with him.

Thankfully, I've never had to go to war with Roosevelt, because I've gotten along with him every game he's appeared, he's been too far geographically to get in my way. I greatly respect the real life man and don't like the idea of giving him the smackdown even if it was absolutely necessary. If he were to attack me, though I'd change my tune.

And this is all strange, seeing as how in Civ III, I had no qualms about giving Lincoln the smackdown, and yet in real life, I respect Lincoln almost as much as I respect FDR.

Tokugawa. Why does he always end up sitting on resources you can't trade for anywhere else? And he's always embracing a different religion (he seems to be founding Christianity a lot).

Although I haven't had too many wars in Civ IV, I hate two Civs: the Japanese and the Mongols.

Both of these civs have been hating me, taunting me and trying to off me since time immemorial (Civ I) so I have a long history...

No matter how many times I start games with random civs, one or both show up. I have been warring with Ghengis Khan or Tokugawa or whatever their names have been through Civ I, Civ II, Civ II Gold, Civ II: Test of Time, Call to Power I and II, Civ III (plus PTW and Conquests) and now Civ IV! I don't know what it is about those guys, but they always want to hurt me.

So if you ask me why I hate them, it's LEARNED!!

I've had issues with monty as well. He caused me a lot of grief in my 2nd or 3rd game. To my great joy, he was my neighbor during my first domination game.

Caesar seems to be a big pain too. In my last game as a peaceful country (founded all but one religion), he attacked me out of the blue. We even shared the same religion and were very positive in relations. Actually, the only neighbor I've had be totally peaceful was India, and that might be just random luck.

Cyrus winds up in every game I've played. And in every game I've played, he's a dependable ally who doesn't attack. I hate him for it...

Isabella. She always ends up getting a couple of religions, and is right next to me.

I just started a monarch game, and damn, there she is. Her second city, Barcelona, is just to the west of my prefered second city site. So I go along, settle the second city, connect stone, and drop one forest chop into stonehenge. I culture bomb the city back into, well, the stone age. It just flipped to me, so now that I have cleared out the barbs behind me (I am in a peninsula, and Izzy is right at the mouth) I am going to go and pay here a vist.

The Holy Shrines fo Buddhsim, Hinduism and Confucianism should help me keep up in tech...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Izzy. Theres no way to be nice to her unless you convert to her religion. *sigh*

Monty. Yep he's a pain too.

Mongols.. learning to play Civ 4 I got waylaid by the keshik horde so I hold a grudge on ol Genghis.

Tokugawa's such a stubborn jerk. Any other civ, I can butter them up...send them resources...gift them techs...convert their cities...eventually they WILL like me. I will be beloved by everyone, and everyone will tade me all their resources, and I will be perfectly happy and healthy and, er, strategic. Except for Tokugawa. He squats on the world's only sources of Crabs, Silk, and Ivory, and he won't trade with me because he doesn't like me. The "years of peace" diplomatic bonus doesn't seem to change his mind. Giving him techs and money makes him like me a little, but not very much. I can't get an "open borders" diplomatic bonus because he won't open his borders. I can't get a "brothers of the faith" bonus because I can't convert him, because he won't open his borders to me. MAYBE AN ICBM OR TWO WILL OPEN YOUR BORDERS, YOU STUBBORN $*%&@!!

Whooops. Sorry about that. I'm a peaceful builder, I swear.
