Well... runs until industrial/modern age and then fps goes below 24. AMD64 2,2GHz, 2GB ram, 7800GTX with 81.85 drivers. I play the game with 1280*1024 (native resolution), 4xfsaa and other settings high. Even Quake4 runs better :-P
Maybe I just should buy another 7800, or do I need more powerful cpu or what if I wanted a smoother fps?

after the fix it works fine. Wondermovies stutter, in Rad Video Tools they work fine (more recources ofcourse). This is not the first game that don't work out of the box and it won't be the last. Don't bother, they fix it and remember Civ 3 1.00 without expansion was highly unfinished to!

The game runs on my FX5200 Geforce with the 78.01 drivers but has some problems (memory leak or something) and a few other things wrong and the game needs a patch!
I explained it in the 'Bugs' Thread!
Until that point where it slows down, gets laggy, and eventually will crash --- save the game and get out of it, because it is just using too much memory (557mB of Virtual Memory only in the year 2750B.C. depending on how big the map is and how may Civs).
I started a Tiny world with 3 Civs so - so far - the game has lasted longer, but I expect that it will use too much memory eventually and slow down, get laggy, and then I Save and exit the game!
The *.bik files are the thing that do not play right with the sound (cutting in and out) and Pirates! with a similiar setup (on the install and file installing) plays fine out of the box, and the Direct X 9.0c version for either game was used, and all of that, and it is Civ IV that is not working correctly and needs a patch!

I'll try to run it on 512MB with no swap under WInXP. With everything needless off I'll have 400MB of free RAM (curse MS for too much RAM consumption by WinXP, MS must learn RAM saving from GNU/Linux OSes). Hope it works even with high quality and AA+AFx4money sqrt evil;
My literacy level are appalling.
