      Goodie Huts

Are goodie huts scarce in Civ 4? It may just be me, but I'm not seeing as many of them as I got used to from Civ 3.

State religion grants +1 happy and +1 culture. Organized religion grants +25% building production. Nice to have that cleared up.

Nice walkthough. Looks like it takes 22 food (11 turns) to grow to size 2, and likely 24 food (12 turns) to grow to size 3. It also takes 12 turns to build a worker.

Why no gold from tiles next to rivers?

The tile yields - that is, the food/shields/commerce on the map - appear automatically when a settler is selected.
Very nice little feature. I love it.

Nice. At last we get some hard info on how to play the first turns. I look forward to the next installment!

I like it, that your units don't start at the same tile anymore.

I like that production doesn't get wasted if you switch midstream.

                Great write up!

                    Very good walkthrough!

I can't wait for the next parts.

I was getting into it and then it stops. What a day.
Great right up, just makes the wait more painful now.

                      Promotions look cool!

Love the custom choices, esp. later starting age.

I hope that this time tomorrow I am in the haze of a c-4 trance.

Looks like that could put a stop to shortrushing and placeholding, though. Shortrushing I can do without, but no placeholding will mean I really need to rework my approach.

Definitely going to be fun watching the walkthrough continue; even though I'm a RTFM kinda guy, it's still nice to be able to start attaching meanings to icons in the interface, and to pick up little tidbits (and avoid having my workers become little tidbits for lions!).

                          This game sure looks fun!
If I'd known then what I know now, I'd never have done all the stuff that led me to what I know now...

Anyone else noticed the One City Challenge option on startup? That's great. No more accidental city-from-a-hut!

I didn't think of that...you're right, that strategy looks like it can't be used...

That can rarely cause some awkward situations where your settler is on one strip of land and your warrior/scout is on another.
