I -am- from the greater Pittsburgh area, though. ("Greater" indeed). I've got WTAE-4 on currently, watching the end of Monday Night Football. Yay for cable TV. Once upon a time, I used to have to tune in with rabbit ears, and that was some heinously bad "fuzzy TV" if you know what I mean.
Incan quechua is a silly name, it is like persian mede, or british english
what were they thinking?
chasquis were not a military unit but at least, you know, they existed, they carried messages thru mountains, and had light weapons to defend if attacked.
playing with all the civs in a small map, like city states sounds like a lot of fun
By the way, Solver, any idea what is the "fair" difficulty level in Civ4 - i.e. the level where the AI gets neither benefits nor penalties? It was Regent in Civ3.

Hmmm... was just thinking... perhaps the regular knight doesn't have a disengage chance like other mounted units and the camel archer does? Perhaps parhaps... it would make sense... and it would indeed be a powerful unit then all in all! Solver is a tightlipped fellow at times...
Can helicopters fly over mountains? They can IRL (most copters have a max altitude of 10k+), and since there are several categories of "ground" unit (siege, archer, mounted, helicopter, etc.) it would be reasonable if the "helicopter" unit type was able to fly over mountains.
The maximum number of spies is 4 at any one time...I guess since that goes for the AI civs as well, I can see how the spy won't be a huge part of the game.
Though, if you are playing on a huge map, and can only build 4 spies, I would think your border security is going to be rather lax in terms of catching enemy spies.
