That music had me quite hooked the first time I inserted my Civ4 CD into the drive .

That is kind of a disappointment to here, 'cause they (the developers) certainly made the culture slider component of culture sound like a MUCH more important component of forming your cultural borders than it actually sounds now.

I actually like that very much, having features that aren't used in every game but have it's use from time to time, a different solution sort of speak.
Just as slavery was for me in Civ3, hardly used it but sometimes, just sometimes it was there as an absolute life-saver.
That one extra rushed unit that made the differnce between loosing or holding a city...
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Yeah, gotta say that based on what I have heard on the www.civiv.com, the original soundtrack rocks. Reminds me of Adiemus and Dead Can Dance, which is very appropriate for a game about world civilizations.

"Team victory is possible in team games / games with Permanent Alliances on."

Can those permanent alliances formed during the game or are that things you sellect at the beging of a game like in RTS games?

You can select them before the game, but you can also form them during the game, if the option is on. If the option is off, you can not form them during the game.

No doubt. The rest of the music on the civ4 site is...decent, nothing unexpected. But the menu screen 'Baba Yetu' music is almost worth buying the whole rest of the game for...very catchy.

                Nice work on the preview.

Sounds good, I love permanent alliances. Since the first civilization do I love it to have one(or a few) very close friends(with friendly civs like India) and to help them in any way I can. I was always very unhappy when they betrayed me(even if it didn't made any strategical sense). Now can I fully help them and give them tons of units, without seeing those units being used against me

Just thought of something: do civilizations with the "religious freedom" civic still care about your state religion? If they don't could making religious freedom a global civic be a good strategy when most other civs have different religions

Can you use spies to kill the great people & missionaries of other civs (assuming they haven't been "spent" yet)?

They don't care anymore. And they get happy if you run free religion too.

                            Q about religion...

I keep on reading that people want to race to found religions.

Whats the benefit of founding a religion? Why can't you just stay religion-less until you 'import' a religion from another civ.

Would it be desireable to have more than one holy city? Or would that cause problems?

                              1) Increased happiness in all your cities that have that religion.
                              2) Extra gold from foreign cities with that religion.

                              Those are the main things.

And for having more then one religion in your civ: depends whether or not you have a state religion.
He who knows others is wise.
He who knows himself is enlightened.

You get money from every temple you have the holy city from and if you have a great prophet can you build a great structure in your hokly city(each religion has one of these I believe).

Thought all other effects of religion(like +100% great person birth rate in cities with same religion) work regardless wathever you have the holy city or not.

So if a civilization is aggresively converting your civ, could you just change to their religion and let them pay(the cost of missionaries) for spreading your state religion OR you could start an even more aggresive counter conversion OR close your borders with him OR change to theocracy so that only the state religion can spread. That is at least the impression I got from reading reviews, I hope that all the different strategies are well balanced
