I have to vote moddability (other).

And I do intend to dive into the code before the game .
(if I can convince someone to email me the xml and python scripts from the game , after all I have like 8 days between Civ4 gets released and Civ4 getting released HERE).

I voted noICS, because I think this will be the biggest change that adds new strategies. Other things I'd have liked to vote for: 3D world, units, GP/specialists, diplomacy and nimoy (though only if we'd get this in localized versions as well!!!)

I voted Great People/specialists, but I could also have voted: No more corruption (or pollution!), Unit promotions/new combat system, Overhauled diplomacy, De-Facto elimination of ICS, More emphasis on tile improvements/resources or Religion.

So much to choose from - really an evil poll.

Could have gone with corruption as Xmudder did, because I is also one of the reasons that I dont play civ3 anymore.

I think people here are quite happy with the In-game map/scenario editor but it is not our first choise.

          I have to vote ICS.
The thing about civ3 that bugged me the most was the way the AI strolled through your borders and built cities in idiotic locations.

I have mixed feelings as the release of civ4 approaches. There are a lot of things to like and be excited about, but there are other things that I'm hating on (primarily the catoony graphics.)

I guess I am more of of grognard at heart than an empire builder. When I see a unit of cavalry, I want to know exactly what it represents. How many troops, what they are armed with, level of experience and so on. In civ, units are abstracted and that kind of drives me nuts.
The lack of tactical combat is a bummer too.

The civic system, so I voted other because that was missing from poll. I love stuff like this, especialy now that it appears to be a balanced system rather then "newest ones are best and the rest is trash" we saw in past civilization games.

It adds replayability, immersion(now the AI tries to advance certain civics like in SMAC) and it allows you to better simulate certain real rulers. Like for example current Iran: "theocracy, represenation, nationhood, free market, emancipation"

The first thoughts I had on Civ4 years ago was that religion needs to be revamped, so even without digging into any details on the game I chose that option.

I want the game to be a complete suprise (or mostly at least) on the release day.

Take it easy, remember that Norway is quite off the beaten track.
