My game there actually had reasons why religions were founded the way they were. I founded Buddhism early as I went for a religion (Buddhism isn't always the first one to be founded). The rest of the civs of my continent didn't get the early religions, they adopted Buddhism, and thus had no reason to found a religion themselves.
540 AD is late for Christianity, you'll usually see it founded earlier. But Taoism and Islam are definitely religions you can well found later, if you miss the race for the earliest ones.Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

...sounds like the perfect opening for a "religious anarchy" period...even to the effect of splitting up empires who had the former religion as their state religion!____________________________

Nothing would happen I imagine, if it still works as it did in CIv3, like the palace, it would transfer to a different city.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

You are probably right Alva....but it would be nice if some kind of fall-out occured from having a "Holy City" destroyed ...____________________________
