Hey, you're German for a reason..bring your bath towel with you?Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Seems to be a standard (if promising) step for the series.

True, but I'm willing to be an after-release-beta-tester."As far as general advice on mod-making: Go slow as far as adding new things to the game until you have the basic game all smoothed out ... Make sure the things you change are really imbalances and not just something that doesn't fit with your particular style of play." - WesW

I voted the second option but I won't buy immediately. As I have said before, I'm going to wait to hear from earlier purchasers before I buy mine. And maybe even wait for as long as it takes for a GOOD patch to become available.
There WILL be bugs in the initial version -- goes with the territory.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

I voted for option 2. There are several things that seem problematic, also there are still many unknowns; however, many things have exceed my expectations so far, and the promise of having the ability to significantly mod the game truly gives me hope that this could be the best Civ ever.

not sure how to vote...
I'll be acquiring this game via less than legitimate means as soon as it is available.
However, if it is good, I will buy a copy.
I have high expectations, and so far, I am optimistic based upon what I see so far.To us, it is the BEAST.

option 2.
I talked to a guy who has been working on the game, and it sounds like a lot of issues we all have with CIV III will not be repeated.*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

Option 2... I've preordered as well. Special edition for $45? Not bad.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
